it appears to work for the first month... but after that it stops improving your skin. i found skinID by neutrogena VERY VERY effective and fast and affordable. check it out before you buy proactiv.

Pros:

it definitely makes your skin softer, cleanses, relieves blemishes, ect.

Cons:

it gets your skin addicted, so if you miss one day of washing your face with this product, you may break out. also be careful if you have very sensitive skin, because it may have the opposite affect rather than to clear up your acne.

i've been using this product for a little under a month now, since about thanksgiving. this is by far the best acne treatment i have ever used. it works differently on different skin. for my mother and my sister, it caused them to break out worse; so they stopped using it. but they have VERY sensitive skin. within my whole time using this product, the only time my skin became worse was when i missed using it for a day or so; when washing my faces with other products. but that's one problem thats very likely to happen with other products as well. i would definitely recommend this product to anyone who is looking to clear up all or most of their acne. because it has worked beyond well for me. after only one day of using it i noticed results, and i absolutely love this product. not only is the price a reasonable price, because you do get a lot for the money, but the product is by far amazing. i give it 5 stars without a doubt. thankss guthyy renkerrrrrr

Pros:

- Reduces whiteheads and blackheads within 4 days for me!
- Easy to use.
- Gives me a fresh and clean feeling after using it.

Cons:

- Maybe drying up my face could be a con although my skin isn't used to the products and my dermatoligist said the dryness could fade away within a couple a weeks when my skin is used to the benzoyl peroxide.

Very good product , I higly recommend it. But still you'll have to do your homework and do some searching to look if Benzac would be the right product for you. My skin is dry at this very moment but I believe it will fade when time passes. I do moisturize afterwards but I doesn't seem to moisturize enough. I will see if the dryness disappears else I'll have to go search a better moisturizer. BUT THE LITTLE DRYNESS IS SO WORTH MY CLEAR SKIN. ^^

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
