Pros:

Good short term

Cons:

Expensive after a few months doesn't work as well, and you even become dependent. I stoped using it for a few days and I had the worst break out ever.

Its good for the trial but thats about it. I'm going to try a combination of toothpaste cleanser and alot of the lotion since you never run out of that stuff. If I have some results I'll be back =D

Pros:

Works really well. Way less acne :)

Cons:

Expensive

Use all three of the products EVERY DAY. Then once or twice maybe three times at the most use the face mask during the week. It will not be effective the first week and you'll probably get more pimples the first week, but after that you'll see them disappear and you're skin will be a lot more softer and smoother. This works really well and I'm acne free! (This is coming from a person who's family gets acne really bad.)

I've used different acne meds for the last 10 years. This is the only one that will keep my face consistently clear. I use a pea-size amount every morning and night on my whole face.

Pros:

WARNING!!!! at the beginning felt great I had a few hormonal breakouts. Proactive did clear most of it.

Cons:

After months worth of use, I was getting these big, painful red bumps that you can't pop because its cystic acne.

Horrible that this marketing scam tricks your skin to becoming dependant on the product, your body and skin does become immune to anything if it;s constantly exposed to it.I was using it for quite some time and then I had these big red bumps that I thought "If I'm using the Proactiv, I shou;d be clear, not breaking out." Bottom line don't do it, your better off with Clean and Clear, use tea tree oil and apple cider vinegar.

Pros:

Not too expensive

Cons:

Not for everyone

BP is hailed by some as a great method to combatting acne but for me, not so much. It's awesome that it works for some but I think people hopping aboard the bandwagon for the regimen need to keep in mind that everyone's skin is different. For that same reason, the regimen and BP will not work the same for everyone either. I unfortunately did not consider that when I began using it. I in fact, needed professional help for my acne, but because of my stubborn thinking I thought I could clear my face on my own. Instead it worsened over the month and a half that I used the BP. It showed some results but nothing that convinced me that I should stick it out any longer than I already had.

Pros:

IT'S BENZOL PEROXIDE AND IT WORKS ON ACNE.

Cons:

YOU CAN GET IT CHEAP AT ANY PHARMACY.

IT'S BENZOL PEROXIDE !!! THAT IS THE MEDICATED INGREDIENT THEY USE. BENZOL PEROXIDE IS THE ONLY MEDICATED CREAM KNOWN TO KILL bacteria P. acnes. YOU CAN BUY IT AT ANY PHARMACY FOR CHEAP CHEAP CHEAP AND AT DIFFERENT STRENGHT. IT'S BEEN AROUND FOREVER...THEY JUST PACKAGED IT DIFFERENTLY AND CALLED IT A NEW MIRACLE SOMETHING. THIS REMINDS ME OF DIET PILLS...THE ONLY THING THAT ACTUALLY REALLY SPEEDS UP THE METABOLISM IS ephedrine !!! NOTHING ELSE. AND IT'S LEGAL IN 8 MG (very mild). TAKE ONE PILL AND ONE CUP OF COFFEE AND TAH TAHHHHH....INSTANT DIET PILL.

Pros:

I put the face mask on JUST THE ACNE not the whole face. Do not follow directions. it just didn't help me. in anout 1/2 an hour i took it off and all of my acne! I use the proactiv when i want!

Cons:

The proactiv is crazt $$$$$ !!

You should try it and see how it works!

Pros:

Its Blue, looks nice.

Cons:

its cheap, not a real company, made by who knows.. Does nothing, is it just me or is it when you use f**kin toner, it makes your skin look 100 times worse?.. Could only use it at night cuz you look like a goof with this sh*t on all day.

Sucks..

Pros:

So far...I haven't found one pro for this product.

Cons:

My face looks HORRIBLE! I am 30 yrs. old and my face has NEVER looked this bad in my life!!!

I have only been using it for a week...but the first two days I used it my face broke out HORRIBLY!! They don't seem to be going away and I seem to be getting MORE big huge cystic looking things. They are hard and they hurt bad. I called the company and they said to keep using it. Now I found this website and I am a little scared. I don't know if I should keep trying it....or Stop! It's worked for so many other people...but then you read all these complaints and it seems like this is exactly what is happening to me. Every time I get up and wash the emergency spot treatment off....I think...my face is looking better...but then by night time....I'm in tears looking at my face!!!! I don't know what to do yet. I have noticed that I have NO blackheads at all. They are all completely gone. Also, where I don't have breakouts...my skin looks very smooth and feels soft. That is what keeps me thinking...."maybe it's working"

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
