Pros:

Cleaned up my acne in less than a week, easy to use, fast to work, not too drying, selection of extras.

Cons:

EXPENSIVE! But lasts a while when you don't use too much. A little drying.

Good product, I will continue to use it.

Pros:

It took a long while for this product to work on me. I usually keep with products for at least 6-12 months before making a decision. This nearly took the 6 months to finally take effect, but now my skin is so clear.

Cons:

The packaging. I miss the old tube packaging. It was easier to get out. The product also bleaches my hair and towels.

Great product. I recommend it to anyone with acne. Hell, I go up to random people with horrible acne and suggest it. I had the worst acne and this stuff is brilliant. It can bleach all my towels and turn my hair white as long as it keeps working.

Pros:

Love the pump and the scent.

Cons:

If I use it in the morning my skin is SUPER dry and almost painful

I use this at night before bed, I have a weird switch-it-up routine...I use this when I have a tough pimple or acne flare up, it seems to dry everything up really well. I wouldn't use it everyday cuz it seems to be a bit harsh. As for blackheads...well its not really 'targeting' anything in particular for me...I thought I'd see a huge difference in blackheads since of its name, but its just another acne wash in a pretty purple bottle :P

Pros:

It has completely cleared up my skin.
It looks healthy and fresh! i love it.
i love no wearing make-up, it is an amazing feeling, having naturally great skin!

Cons:

None so far, other than it does sort of smell like sunscreen, and the price is a bit up there.

This product is Definitely worth trying, it might not work for everyone but it did work for me! I wont go back to other skin care products again. My skin looked clear and all the red spots had disappeared after about 3 days within using the product. My advice, give it a go, and you wont regret it!
November 9, 2008

Pros:

This product is great! I have been using it for more than 2 years now and it has cleared up all of my acne, I wouldn't use anything else, I highly recommend this product.

Cons:

The chemicals are strong and stains pillow cases and bed sheets

AcneFree is the best! =)
November 8, 2008

Pros:

None

Cons:

Doesn't work at all! Quinoderm 10% dried out skin and didn't clear up acne. Quinoderm 5% did not make any difference just more comedones.

Waste of time and money.
November 7, 2008

Pros:

Slightly reduces overall redness/inflammation

Cons:

Made my face shiny, stings and itches badly, does not work for nodulocystic acne

I tried Reversion on a whim, just because it's supposed to be "the newest thing." It seemed to help by the end of the first week, but then my skin just stayed the same - it didn't clear up any further. I went to a dermatologist and he said it obviously isn't working and put me on prescription drugs.

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
