Pros:

fast delivery, good customer service

Cons:

make my face really worse than before.

First week of using Carley's, my skin was radiant, even my pores become smaller. The second weeks, my face developed painful cystic acne, esp around upper lips and chin area. It's really BAD. A lot of huge and painful cystic acnes. I had light hormonal acne and I was hoping this product would work for me. I always used Carley's correctly. I never drink or smoking. What should I do? I even don't want to go outside with these bumps on my face.

Pros:

Doesn't make my skin break out more

Cons:

Doesn't ever completely go away

This product is not consitent at all. I've been using it for a while now and it made a slight difference in the begining. This is the best product I've used so far but it still never gives me completely clear skin. I'm gonna keep trying it for another month and then I'm giving up hope..

Pros:

Cleared up my acne quickly. My skin is really soft. My dermatologist's regimen wasn't working. This product is awesome. For those who claims to be scarred for life due to proactive being harsh, maybe you're allergic to benzoyl peroxide and can't use

Cons:

Liquid Tonert stuff stings a little at first - no biggie.

Love it!! Use it!!! It's awesome if you're not allergic to benzoyl peroxide. If you are, use salicylic acid products.

Pros:

It cleans your pores

Cons:

It made my acne worse.. dries out your face... Smells like a combination of soap and bacon

I tried it and it didn't work for me.. too expensive!

Pros:

-Finally cleared up my skin after 11 years of acne agony.
-Everything. I swear by this stuff. I can't thank them enough for creating this product - my skin is beautiful and acne-free now.

Cons:

-I don't like the smell or the bleaching but in my case it is a small price to pay.

I had acne since the time I was about 14 or 15. I was on 3 kinds of pills plus topical treatments for it at different times throughout my teenage years and nothing really helped. My dermatologist wasn't willing to give me Acutane because by the time I tried everything else I was sexually active. I was 26 when I started using Proactiv and I was still breaking out a lot. I had pretty much given up and thought I would always have terrible skin, that I would just have to live with it. I have heard that people have had negative reactions to Proactiv but for me personally it has been amazing. My skin was quite dry and itchy in the beginning but I started using their Green Tea Moisturizer after the Refining Lotion and that solved the problem - without causing me to break-out! Also since I am now 27, I started using their Night Cream as well and my skin is even more radiant. I get compliments on my complexion all the time now and I am still not used to it. :) I LOVE this product.

Pros:

Calmed down red cysts in one night, and is slowly killing my acne altogether as the weeks go by! :D the price is UNHEARD OF oz for oz compared to other OFC BP's.

Cons:

If you use to much to begin, your gonna dry up and peel, which can be embarrasing. (this goes away as your skin adjusts, and can be remedied with the acne.org moisturizer.)

I tried it all, and it seems like this is the only regimen that is gives real results aside from accutane.
November 24, 2009

Pros:

the consistency was good, no burning sensation

Cons:

it broke me out! worse!

I used this for two months, and my acne became worse.
November 23, 2009

Pros:

I've been using it for 3days so far and my skin is much smoother than it was before and its clearing up!..no drying effect for me.

Cons:

The spot treatment burns and makes my skin very red.

Its a great product for clearing your acne just not for the beauty of your immediate skin.

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
