It’s been a staple of acne treatment for decades for a reason. When used properly it can completely clear the skin. It is widely available and affordable. Comes with side effects for the first few weeks and can bleach fabric.

Pros:

no pros, but their packaging was nice, man what good graphic design can get you!

Cons:

numerous chemicals that poison your body, and in-turn make your skin look old. dryness and itchy feeling from the benzoyl peroxide sucking all oils from your skin(doesn't matter if you use only a little) if a product burns when you use it STOP!

The bottom line is that Proactiv puts out a typical product that doesn't perform as well as if you used natural products to let your body naturally heal the skin on your face. don't poison yourself with their chemicals. If i had not bought the lie for 2 whole years i could have saved myself from a lot of psychological misery and physical pain. Their customer service is awful! Proactiv loves their money! Please listen to me! Use natural products that have base ingredients that will be gentle on your skin. don't bleach your skin with products that tear you down and make you tired. get a dictionary of cosmetic ingredients and look it up for yourself! look on [link removed] and find some clean products. eat a super good diet, do bikram yoga and squeeze those toxins out! don't let celebrities persuade you, its your body you run the show. look up other Roden and Fields products on this site [link removed], see the toxins in them Good luck, hope I helped, don't use this

Pros:

This product works whenever you first get it, which is why proactiv offers a 60 day money back guarantee. It is also very easy to get out of the vending machines.

Cons:

After a while it stops working and leaves all kinds of acne on your skin, it irritates my skins, my skin is always red when i use proactiv.

Proactiv works at first, but in the end it does not.

Overall, I'd say that this works. It's definitely worth the money. I use the 3 step system twice a day. I would say that with the face wash, toner and moisturizer it has cleared up my skin quite a bit. However, I still have random zits popping up here and there. As previous reviews have stated, the moisturizer can be pretty drying (which shouldn't be surprising; having Benzoyl Peroxide in any product will tend to dry out your skin). I've been using this product a little over a month now. I'm pretty happy with the results, but once the product runs out I'd like to try another system. I would definitely come back to this if another system isn't better. I will also add that occasionally I don't use the toner and rarely forget to use the lotion.

Pros:

Gives your face great texture

Cons:

my face did not improve got worse

I got this product and used it for the first week, it seemed to be working great and then the second week, its like my face just got irritated by it and I got overnight swelling. The night cream dont just dry up your skin, it pulls it tighter, but then realises it in the morning and make you look like you have aged over night. The day cream dose nothing to help my sking cause once its on I get new acne, dont know why. The cleanser works well for me. Then main thing is it dose reducess the size of the pimples I got. I went from getting big pimples to little ones and I went from young to old.

Pros:

Goes on smooth. Not as rough on skin. Started working within a couple weeks.

Cons:

Dry flakey skin.

I have very sensitive skin and hormonal acne. Irritating products break me out. I've been fallowing Dan's regimen very closely and my skin is almost perfect. I still get small breakouts but they are very minor and go away quickly (if I don't pick at them). I'm able to control the dryness with moisturizer and jojoba oil but I'm still trying to figure out what to do with the flakiness. I was able to apply it twice a day without it being too irritating but I'm trying once a day to control my flakey skin. Overall, better than anything else out there.

Pros:

WORKS but you must be patient. smells nice. ships fast. so easy to use. makes my skin smooth and clear. customer service is amazing! It took me about 9 months to see results. Why do people think it will take one week to get rid of 12 years of acne??

Cons:

nothing. I love this stuff. BE PATIENT!!

THIS IS THE ONLY PRODUCT I WILL EVER USE FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE.!!!!! After 12 years of acne and 12 years of messing up my face more and more by touching it constantly and damaging it with harsh prodcuts and switching products every month I knew it would take my skin more than a few months to heal and to see good results. Like I said, BE PATIENT!

Pros:

Clears up skin pretty good. I thought it was just another bogus package, but i just started it about five days ago and about half my face is clearing.Good pricing too.

Cons:

Takes too long to show results. It''s proably take me three months to get the clear skin, but i can see results.

IT WORKS.

Pros:

This product Definately cleared my acne!!
And not only is it VERY Affordable But you get tons of product in one purchase.

Cons:

Drys your skin out - Must use a moisterizer

Well Bottom line i love this product! Of course there are some minor issues such as the drying or roughening of the skin, but for $15 im not complaining. Before using this product i had tons of tiny oily red bumps all over my forehead and nose. All other over the counter treatments did NOTHING, and i was skeptical about going down the Proactive route. After using acnee free severe for 1 week My acnee was Gone. CONSISTANCY IS KEY! Also when the product began to dry my skin out I reduced my usage of the scrub to 1 time a day and incorperated my own moisterizer after using the toner and the max strength repair lotion (morning) Also i find step 4 useless :]

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
