Pros:

-Skin felt smoother
-Redness faded away slightly
-Acne did not get worse

Cons:

-Expensive
-Skin feels inflamed for a good five minutes or so after each use
-Acne did not get better

For $30/mo, I expected at least SOME of my acne to go away. I only tried it because my friends saw nice results. I guess it's just a hit or miss with most people. I say only try this as a last resort. The company who makes this is obviously just after your money. They offer a whole brochure telling you to buy this, buy that, and you HAVE TO have this! Some acne medications out there have proven results and cost the same monthly WITHOUT scrubbing the crap out of your face with ten thousand products. Good luck trying to get them to stop sending, AND charging, you their kits too as they have yet to take a hint that I cancelled my subscription MONTHS ago.

Pros:

-Refining mask works
-Cleanser was okay
-Made my skin softer

Cons:

-Didn't get rid of or stop acne
-Really expensive
-My skin still feels oily

It didn't work for me. I felt so happy when i ordered it but when it came it didn't do much. If you have already ordered it and you are just checking up on the product, i would say it may work for you. If you are thinking about ordering it, DON'T! There are so many cheaper products out there which are much more effective.

Pros:

-it actually is clearing up my skin
-dries clear
-huge tube when bought from the website

Cons:

-very dry skin after a week of usage
-slightly flaky skin
-makes my skin look weird, like wrinkly or leathery

I had the WORST acne of my life after using tretinoin for about a month. I couldn't take it anymore, so I decided to try out Dan's Regimen again. I had tried the Regimen before, but I didn't adhere to it... I also never bought any of the products from the website. So I figured I'd give the Regimen a shot again after my horrible experience with Tretinoin ( I bought the 3 things from the website). Well, it's been about 1.5 weeks, and I am so happy! Although my skin is dry and flaky, it's SO MUCH BETTER than having a million pimples all over my face. Seriously, I'll go for dry skin over acne any day. I 100% recommend you to try the regimen with 2.5% BP. Don't be like me when I first tried it out - didn't stick to the rules like Dan says. FOLLOW THE RULES!!!!!!!!!!!!! I could see a difference after only a couple days. My pimples were getting smaller. I still did have new pimples come out, but they weren't that bad. My skin seems to be wrinkly around my mouth. It was never like that before. I assume it's because of the BP. I'm going to see what I can do about that without irritating my skin.

Pros:

Inexpensive for 3 items

Cons:

Broke me out really bad within 2 days

I don't know if I'm allergic to SA or what. But after switching from Oxy BP Wash to this, my chin area broke out like crazy. And they are not just little pimples, but big ones and they kept spreading to other areas. It was so terrible that I had to stop after using it for 2 days. I know people are going to tell me it's too soon to stop it. But I broke out like I never did before in my life. I switched back to BP wash and BP 2.5% treatment 2 days later. My face already started to clear up just hours later of switching back. I will never buy anything with SA again.

Pros:

Clears acne
No burn

Cons:

slightly drying

I've been using this everyday for about 4-5 days now. It doesn't smell BAD, it just smells like a medicated wash. Also, for me, it doesn't burn at all. I use it on both my back and my face every morning in the shower. My back is almost completely clear and I cannot describe how awesome that feels! My face breaks out occasionally with a few pimples, but this is clearing them right up. It is slightly drying, but within an hour or two my skin is back to normal. I love this product! It's the first one that's started to actually clear up my back.

Pros:

Contains several natural ingredients and is a good exfoliant. I am delighted with the NATURAL SOAP that was included with purchase of the skin cleanser. The soap helps skin to retain moisture (so important to complement any acne cleanser) and has a pleasant scent to it.

Cons:

I mistakingly got a tiny amount of the product in my eye and it has been burning for a couple of days now. I have never experienced this strong of a reaction before to any cosmetic product. I believe my symptoms are due to an adverse reaction to the active ingredient in this, BENZOYL PEROXIDE.

I referred to the "Consumer's Dictionary of Cosmetic Ingredients" and learned a couple of things about the harmful chemical, benzoyl peroxide. BENZOYL PEROXIDE is a bleaching and drying agent used in cosmetics. It is toxic by inhalation. It is a skin allergen and irritant.... The EU and Canada use this ingredient in nail products, but recommend avoiding its usage in skin products. Because of my strong, adverse reaction to this products and the information I found (above) I will discontinue use of this product. I am concerned that it is advertised as a natural product, yet contains a harmful and toxic active ingredient. I urge anyone considering trying out this product to first research the active ingredient.

Pros:

money back guarantee

Cons:

expensive
does not work
sucks!

i used the proactiv kit for 3 weeks, only thing it did was made me break out even more and made my skin super flaky and dry. i am now going back to what i used back in hs(since i was 15, i am now 21), the neutrogena complete therapy system bc thats the only thing that has worked for me, only reason i had stopped using it was bc since i thought my face was clear, i thought i could go to sleep without washing my face and i thought i could wear any makeup WRONG!!!! so i started breaking out worst than ever and i thought the neutrogena had stopped working, but no, it was totally my fault and horrible decisions. so now i am getting my refund for proactiv and going back to neutrogena, only brand i trust with my skin! and i will wash my face morning n night no matter how clear my face gets, i will be consistent n loyal lol and i will only wear bare minerals and neutrogena cosmetics, bc sadly there is NO CURE for acne, only treatments! i HATE PROACTIV, I LOVE NEUTROGENA!!!!

Pros:

Cheap (Free on NHS)
Works
Gel Consistency

Cons:

Can be drying at first

I have to admit that I always talked down this product as my memories of it are from about 10 years ago before I incorporated it into the regimen. I started using it as back up for when I ran out of Dans stuff but I can see myself moving over to this full time. I just like the consistency a bit more and it seems to work just as well.

Pros:

Slightly removed acne, but came back afterwards

Cons:

Burnt my skin
Acne came back
Dried up my skin ALOT

I have never written a review before, but this product really damaged my skin. After a week of use I found my skin looked burnt and was really red. I immediatly stopped use. My GP has now put me on Tetralysal lymecycline 300mg Hard Capsules, so i am trying that out.

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
