Pros:

Cheap, doesn't make you sick

Cons:

Didn't work :-(

I visited the Doc after 5 months of taking Solodyn (45mg) without seeing any results, He told me the dosage was not high enough but also said my body could've worked up a resistance against the antibiotic. Back to the drawing board for me.

Pros:

The huge nodules on my face disappeared within the first 2 weeks. I got a few white heads that heal very quickly.

Cons:

I seem to feel more tired, but the benefits of this med are worth it.

It's worth a try. I have great insurance so I had nothing to loose. I don't think is worth paying the hundreds of dollars that it would normally cost. A little worried as to what will happen when my 4th month is up!
April 28, 2009

Pros:

Easy to take, no side effects besides photosensitivity. Seems to be helping clear it up a little, raken it for about 3 weeks.

Cons:

Not many results, next step is accutane.

May work well for many people, especially young people.

Pros:

It decreases redness and irritation in the skin. I'm currently using it with Brevoxyl-4 and I'm not seeing much of a difference but it prevents any other breakouts. It works better if you take it around the same time everyday, and be consistent.

Cons:

Works kinda SLOOOW.

My dermatologist gave me this prescription and it isn't as great as I thought it would be. It's only been about a month I've been using it, and he said I would see 75% clearing in my skin. Actually, I've seen probably 10%, and that's me being positive =/ I've seen some blackheads around my nose area that I've never had? Weird. IDK, I'll work it out for another month. From the other reviews, it seems to work if you're taking it properly and with a good exfoliator or somethin'.
March 25, 2009

Pros:

None so far, I've been on this medication (135 mg) for about 5 weeks.

Cons:

None. Stomach doesn't hurt or anything and my face doesn't dry out from it.

My acne has stayed pretty much the same. This drug seems to have no effect on me at all. I'll probably take it for the rest of this month and if I see no changes than I'll try something else.

im in my 20s, f,i don't know about pros yet,it's been 4 days im on solodyn 90 mg,i ve been feeling weak and my heart just raises and i have these panic attacks where i have difficulty breathing every night. my doctor reduced it to 45 mg, which i will start taking tonight, so i will keep u guys updated on this. cant really tell if my skin is worse or better yet. unlike other reviews,i havent seen yet any over dryness.not yet, took it only for 4 days.
March 5, 2009

Pros:

Redness reduction. No cystic breakouts. Breakouts smaller in general.

Cons:

Hard to tell if its working. Expensive w/o discount card. Im pretty sure it purges your skin at first.

Ive have taken 90mg tabs every day for a month. I think that b/c its an antibiotic, it purges the skin in an effort to rid it of bacteria. Im also on finacea, and i think that it helps more. My skin has improved a little since using it. Give it shot, but all it is is a time release antibiotic, and I have noticed no difference between it and normal doxy or tetracycline. Alright, off to refill my prescription with my fingers crossed.

It takes a while to work

It takes to to work. But it does work Stick to it

Pros:

no noticeable side effects

Cons:

didn't work at all! if anything, my acne has gotten worse

i had a coupon from my dermatologist so it wasn't that expensive, but i would have been mad if i had wasted money on this. i've been on 1 tablet a day for 2 months and have seen NO improvement.
January 10, 2009

Pros:

i didnt break out as much as i use to. i would recommend not going more than 2 days without it cuz i went 5 days and i break out like crazy. now im back and its clearing up....im happy now ! ! !

Cons:

did break out two weeks in to it....i think i should wait at least 3 months...to see more results. i do feel tire. and i am not sure if i ever have to pay the regular cost for it cuz 585 its just too much....but a clear face its worth every penny!!!

really happy with this product....i guess you have to try it for yourself and always have a positive additude about your acne. it always goes away...nothing last forever. BE PATIENT !!
