Pros:

Works pretty good, still get a few pimples. Been using it 3 months.

Cons:

Go off of it and my skin goes nuts again.

Very expensive, but I think its worth it. With discount card first 3 months were $10, then jumped to $150.

Pros:

It seemed to clear most of the pimples from my face pretty quickly.

Cons:

Not, sure if it is directly from this or not. But, I have taken it for about 2 weeks. I have EXTREMELY sensitive nipples and mild upset stomach (almost a pregnant feeling)

I did not pay attention to the cost b/c I have insurance and only pd. $20. However, I did have a "discount" card from the Dr. and who knows if insurance will cover it next time. May consider switching to something else...

Pros:

-None

Cons:

-Red bumps scattered about my body, all itchy too.

I have non-inflamed acne, but every once in a while I will get a nodule. So I was prescribed this when I went to the derm for a cortisone shot. so after using this for around 3 weeks, i started developing red bumps that itched. i saw a couple other people write about it here as well, seems pretty rare. guess i had some reaction to it, dunno why it came so late. anyways, i getting off of it as the unbearable itch isn't worth it. i would recommend it others, b/c it seems my case is pretty abnormal.

Pros:

seems to have started clearing up acne, too early to tell

Cons:

i feel absolutely terrible

i have only taken four pills and i have felt increasingly worse with each dose. the first couple of days i only had mild intestinal discomfort. i am generally sensitive to antibiotics so i thought i'd stick it out. on the fourth day, i had a headache so bad it bordered on migraine-like pain, couldn't stand up without having a head rush and feeling dizzy. i did not take the pill today, and the headache is gone, but my abdomen is so painful i can't even touch it and i am constipated. still feel dizzy and generally awful. will discontinue use and call the doctor ASAP.

Pros:

It works. Cleared acne due to perimenopause. I used it for about 6 months.

Cons:

I have had an allergic reaction and think it is the solodyn. Lips are swelling and very itchy, dry and irritated. I have stopped taking the solodyn and it has been three days. I am still feeling the symptoms. Bendryl does help stop the itching.

This medication does work but I would only take it for a very short period of time to get acne under control. Be aware of any side effects and stop taking immediately. I also recommend taking probiotic while taking this to replenish the good bacteria.

Pros:

Cleared up my cysts and most of my moderate acne.

Cons:

Took nearly 6-8 months to see real results. I experienced intestinal discomfort and swelling, hearing loss. I wouldn't recommend using this product for extended length of time as it can be very dangerous. Just read the side effects.

I'm 25 years old, and I've had moderate acne for about 12 years now. About a year ago, I was under a lot of stress and started developing cysts for the first time (never more than 2-3 on my face at one time). I've used antibiotics on and off, never exceeding 8 months of regular use (as it is dangerous to expose your body to ANY antibiotic for extended period of time according to my dermatologist). I'd have to say that Solodyn did a pretty nice job of clearing my skin, but I've since gone off the drug and am maintaining w/ external treatments such as facials. The tomato peel I regularly get seems to work just as well as the Solodyn, and it's much safer w/o the side effects. I think it's important to know that there are drugs like Erythromiacin that are just as effective and don't have as severe the side effects of Solodyn. Keep in mind that Solodyn only just recently entered the market (about 5 years ago), so the full extent of it's side effects aren't yet fully known.

Pros:

It worked well. I no longer have any new blemishes. I have only used it for two months.

Cons:

The price is outrageous!! Even with the $10.00 coupon my doctor gave me, it still cost $42.99/month. When my pharmacist inquired about the coupon, we were told the price went up and they could not honor the $10.00 price. No thanks!

I am not going to give them the pleasure of using it anymore. False advertising is a crime. It is too bad beacuse it actually works. I will not be baited in by a cheap coupon and then told to pay more. Sorry, I don't think so!

Pros:

There are no bad side effects, you get less break outs

Cons:

still waiting to have a clear face.... its been almost 3 months

its worth trying because you get less break outs but i think you have you stay on this your whole life.

Pros:

no side effects

Cons:

i have been taking it for 4 1/2 weeks and i have not seen any results. My acne actually got worse but i think its because of the humidity in the summer. i am as on quinnova which are 2% salicylic acid cleansing wipe and 5% benzoyl peroxide treating

might work for some people faster than others.
