Pros:

I was reluctant but it actually cleared up all my pimples even the the big huge bumps!

Cons:

It costs alot to some people but money is not an issue to me (500 dollars )

If you clearly have been trying many medication and wasted like 100dollars or more in buying that stuff. Go to your derm ask how solodyn is for you. Than Get it. If money is an issue get some samples pills from the doctor that will last atleast 2 weeks. I started it like saturday and now its wednesday and my face is totally cleared from all those small pimples to those big huge pimplees

Pros:

Once a day.
Clears big, painful acne.
Takes 3 months for comlpetely clear skin.

Cons:

My insurance doesn't cover it.
Can only get through Rx.
Not sure if it's harming my body in the long-run, being an antibiotic.

Wish I was put on this years ago! My deep painful, red embarrassing pimples :) I mail in a pamplit to the company and they mail me the meds, I wish my insurance covered it, I have to switch to a generic brand next month, I hope it works just as well. I'm 22 and have acne since 12 and never got better, only more severe. O happy to have gone on this!

Pros:

Clears up Acne...Great product

Cons:

Extreme flare-ups after discontinuing taking product...Hives

My Solodyn dosage recently increased from 80g's to 105g's. It works great, however it does cause Hives, but I'd rather have hives than acne.

Pros:

Clears up Acne Great
Works Well
Reasonably Priced

Cons:

Takes a Bit to Work
I Had to Learn How to Take a Pill
Had to Use 88mg Pills

Yes, use it! It worked for me! Although, i did have to learn how to take a pill ( i am extremely healthy, never needed pills before)i have pretty bad acne and this cleared it up, although it took 2-3 weeks. I am still pretty young, so my mom pays for it, i have no clue of the cost!

Pros:

Totally cleared me up and had no dryness or reaction at all. Struggled with my skin all my life and now it's dependably clear. Won't ever go off this stuff! And using the discount card makes it extremely inexpensive, ie, $10 at the most for a month's supply.

Cons:

None at all.

Couldn't be happier.

Pros:

Effectively eliminated moderately severe acne

Cons:

Could be expensive if insurance does not cover, but doctor gave me some kind of discount card, had some small side effects in beginning that are gone now, don't want to use it forever

I'm a 31 year old 115 pound Asian girl. I started getting acne in my mid 20s, and was getting pimples all the time. I would try everything I could think of (washing regularly with different types of cleansers/systems, regularly changing pillows, eating better, drinking more water, etc.) Nothing worked. Finally, my friend suggested I go to the dermatologist. Duh! The doctor prescribed Solodyn (90 mg), Clenia face wash and Ziana. I stopped using Ziana within a few weeks (two harsh and I felt unnecessary). The solodyn started working right away. Within a week the number of pimples dropped, and by the third week, I didn't get any new ones. The side effect I got was constipation oddly, and I am very regular. I asked my doctor to give me 45 mg instead, and after that, the problem kind of went away. I don't want to take this forever, but I am so thankful that I don't have to deal with my weekly pimples. I'm hoping I can eventually just rely on the Clenia face wash, which works well.

Pros:

Clears up your skin and I have had ZERO side effects!! This stuff is great!

Cons:

CAN be expensive ($500+), but if you get a prescription card from your Dermatologist, you can get it for $25 or less...

I have been taking 90mg/day for about a week and half, and this stuff is awesome. Before I started taking this medicine, I came out here to see what other people thought, and everyone had me scared to death, with all of their "side effects", etc. I called my Derm about my concerns and she said that the ingredients that are in Solodyn (minocycline) used to be pretty hard stuff. She said the medication has been improved and that I should have no side effects. I have cystic acne (not bad, but a couple in my chin area) and I have had them for years. I started taking this stuff 10 days ago, along with putting Duac on in the AM and Differin at night, and I have cleared up about 85%! What is left on my chin is the marks that will go away. No more cysts, and it's only been 10 days. ZERO side effects whatsoever! I take it at night about 7:30pm after I have dinner. NO clue if this matters with any nausea, etc, but I'm telling you, this stuff works great, and I feel great.

Pros:

Solodyn works very well!!!! It take about 6 weeks to clear everything up but it is well worth the wait. My derm gave me reate cards so for the first three months of my prescription was free. now it is 25 dollars, but well worth it!

Cons:

Takes a few weeks to work, but well worth it.

I would recomend this to anyone who is frustrated of trying all kinds of different acne products and none of them work.
