Hi guys,

I am new here and need an opinion from someone with knowledge.
Currently (from 2022) I receive laser treatments from 1 clinic and I can't see any improvement in my scars. Can someone analyse if they use their devices properly?

I am 36 years old female, very light pale skin. Ice pick, rolling, boxcar and some white scars that left after tca cross I did years ago in another place.

So I had 7 lasers there (did some botox and fillers and other treatments they suggested too):

in 2022 I had 3 lasers: PS fax 1064nm, 0.3 J/cm2 and Ihad 2 lasers: Erb 7*7 1200 J/cm2 and Erb 7*7, 900 short +TCA

in 2024 I had 2 lasers: TUL 8W 1400mikro with CO2 7x7 50J medium

Are these settings the best to get maximum improvement?

I am not saying I don't see any improvement. I do see my pores are smaller and the skin is more bouncy. But the scares stay the same and I am getting more and more frustrated as new pimples (I have 2-3 deep painful cysts every month around ovulation) leave new scars. And it costs A LOT.

I want to talk to my doctor about the whole thing and suggest maybe better treatment or ask for higher settings, but first I would like to know if they do best they can or they sting me around....

Thank you for all your responses!

Hi there. I understand your frustration. Acne scars can be so tough to treat. What I've learned over the years is that a "multi modal approach" is generally your best bet when you have multiple types of acne scars (boxcar icepick rolling). So what this means is that your thoughts that only lasers isn't getting you where you wanna be is accurate. The fillers and TCA cross might have helped a bit but I'd also look into excision, subcision, micrcoring (kind of new), biostimulatory fillers, ranges of chemical peels etc. These are just a couple examples but it helps to do a Google search in your area for dr's that may specialize in acne scars. Best of luck to you! We may never perfectly eradicate our scars but I think we'd all be quite happy with a 70-80% overall improvement.
