Pros:

Smells good :D

Cons:

Will destroy your face

My friend has used this for years, because she's just never bothered to get another facial cleanser. She has the most rediculous blackheads all over her face, which isn't caused by this product; that's just the way her skin is. Her face looks rough and flaky, and it's red almost all the time. If anything, the product hurts more than helps your skin. It's simply way too harsh :'( Tip: try using a basic, but effective cleanser, combined with baking soda. Baking soda is seriously the best exfoliant ever; it's so gentle, yet extremely effective. ;)

Pros:

It smells amazing and is cheap

Cons:

The beads are HUGE and it burns after a while. The breakouts stoped after a few weeks but came back

I used THREE tubes of it and my acne did not improve or got worse PS.This product is cheaper in Trinidad than the US because the conversion rate is $1US to $6TT

I bought it tinking it wouldn't work, but it actually did! and it doesn't smell like other skin products, it actually smells greatAfter you put it your face feels fresh...a little ticklish, cold felling and then pimples gone in less than 10 hours! Does amazing things on skin!

Pros:

Got rid of pimple in under 8 hours..kind of!

Cons:

Left HUGE red marks on my face.
They look like giant red pennys and burn.

This product is not effective on sensitive skin. I have horrible marks that I'm afraid will never go away!

Pros:

It cleared up my skin the first couple of days, especially my forehead and cheeks. Just a little bit of lotion over my face and i was ready to go in the morning.

Cons:

I find the white and green grains on my face and pimples form around them, which is very irritating. Also, after a few weeks i began to break out again.

this is a nice product for someone with light acne, but when you're more intense, this is not enough. i would recommend it though because all skin is different.

Pros:

Easy to use + cleans well. I don't use any other lotions but I wear a sunscreen product in the daytime and a moisturizer at night. It improved the texture of my skin + got rid of the blackheads and pimples and prevents new breakouts

Cons:

Since I have sensitine skin, I can't use any other acne treatments while I use this cleanser because my skin would get too try and itchy so I only use this cleanser + moisturizer.

For me it's been a good and easy product to use and it greatly improved the texture and feel of my skin.

Pros:

the smell! it smells amazing; like an apricot candy. Ah, i love it.
the scrubbing beads leave your skin smooth and clean feeling.
it helps prevent acne pimples. the price is also affordable.

Cons:

if i use it too often, it makes my skin dry and flaky. so i just use it once a week.
some people say that the beads aren't good for your skin since they aren't "round" so they could, overtime, tear your skin. doesn't help my stubborn blackheads.

this scrub is excellent. i don't think that i'll ever use another scrub.it feels amazing and smells even better.it takes some experimenting to know how much exfoliation your skin needs, and after you figure that out, this scrub will benefit you. it also helps my acne pimples a lot, but i have to be gentle so they don't become inflamed. it reduces most of my blackheads, but i have some VERY stubborn ones, so i just use a biore pore strip every month and that helps. if you are thinking about trying this, i would recommend it. you can't go wrong with the price: $3-4. it also lasts you a long time.

Pros:

Works well. Doesn't trash my skin like benzoyl peroxide does. Smells nice. Cleared black-heads in around two weeks. Has controlled most break-out in the two months I've been using it. I don't need a lotion when using it, as it moisturizes.

Cons:

Doesn't preven ALL break-outs. I've gotten a couple cysts on my chin while using it. But for sensitive skin like mine it's been SO much better than BP. I still have a little redness in the areas around my mouth that are most sensitive to products.

Works better than I would have expected for so something that seems so mild. Is able to penetrate the pores much better than the alpha hydrox lotions I've been using for years. They help prevent acne, but dry quite a bit more, and for me, don't clear the pores unless I use in conjunction with BP. This product, however, seems to clear the pores and prevent acne without the BP. Plus, my skin is soft, and doesn't peel every twenty-four hours. Before using this stuff, the area around my mouth began to look flaky like lizard skin by around 3pm every day. Yikes.

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
