Pros:

Ehhhhh it was on special offer!

Very slight reduction visibility of blackheads

Cons:

My skin has NEVER been so spotty! Since I started using this stuff, all my face is covered on awful white spots with goo in them. Usually I have clear skin.
The blue pieces are hard to wash off completely

Hopefully this is getting rid of toxins so I'll be left with nicer skin in a few weeks...??? (even though my skin was really clear when I just used soap and water)

Pros:

Does not make skin feel irritated. Like the earthy smell. Feels lightweight.

Cons:

Pads can feel harsh on severe acne. Price is expensive.

I have been using this line for about 3 weeks now. I am still not sure how I feel about it as I feel as my acne is getting worse. I was an avid user of Proactiv. As I wanted to try something that would control my oily skin I opted to try this line. First week was great as my skin was not as oily. Second week I started to get more breakouts than usual. Third week I noticed my pores getting smaller but acne was still getting worse. They say it takes at least 4 weeks to get true results so I am not giving up on this product just yet. If my acne clears up within 6-8 weeks I will approve this product.

Pros:

I love this stuff. I use the type for oily skin. I use a bunch of cotton balls until I see no more dirt on the ball. Obviously it's getting the dirt out because I can see it.

Cons:

It makes my face really dry after I use it so I always put on moisturizer when I'm done. Sometime it tingles so bad it hurts.

Cleans my face well. If you have sensitive skin this product would probably burn very bad.

Pros:

prevents acne, clears acne, smells like a watered down scent of cucumber ^-^ and get rid of redness.

Cons:

none

I recently broke out because I was trying other acne products that didn't seem to work but now that I'm back onto using this product my face seemed better. Because of the other products I used, my face was irritated, red, and had a burning sensation but when I went back to using this product my face was instantly relieved and hydrated plus it smells good! OBVIOUSLY if your skin is sensitive/allergic to salicylic acid then don't use this and stick to BP. Overall this product I'd say would work even better with the other acne stress control products but if you already have a wash and toner than don't bother to get the other acne stress control products and just get this one.

Pros:

Gets rid of all my acne

Cons:

can dry out skin

This item works really well and is quite affordable. I've tried many acne creams and solutions but this kit has been amazing. I would recommend it for people with oily skin who are prone to breaking out regularly. Although it contains mineral oil and Petrolatum as some of the ingredients which actually clog the pores. the benzyl peroxide cleansers ability to fight breakouts is great.

Pros:

-moisturizes really well
-tingly cool feeling

Cons:

-doesn't get rid of acne

It's a good moisturizer but it doesn't do anything for acne. I still use it because it doesn't worsen my acne.

Pros:

Works really well, really fast.

Cons:

Smells kinda funky, dries out your skin.

I'm currently using the whole advantage kit and I find it works wonderfully. I have tried everything but accutane. Proactive, Chemical Peels, Der-Med, The Pill, prescriptions... NOTHING worked. I stopped using anything and my acne began to flare up really bad so I went to sobeys and grabbed this just for the heck of it. It worked SO much better then anything else I tried and it was 100% affordable. I've never seen my face clear up so fast before. My skin is pretty dry now, even with the help of the moisturizer but who cares about dry skin if your acne's gone? Highly recommend this one.

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
