Pros:

cleared my bacne after a continuous use. smells great. very affordable in walmart

Cons:

must use it consistently day after day to get significant and gradual result. the bottle doesn't eject the cleanser easily. you have to squeeze HARD to get it out

this is a great product for me. everyone must have different results on this product, but for me, it stopped my serious backne after a few weeks. however, once i use it, i have to use it everyday because after a few days of neglecting, my backne came back. It is a graudual process and it really doesn't fix my scars from the previous backne scars.; but for about six dollars, the result is OUTSTANDING!! this has been the only product that has worked for me. im contemplating whether to use this on my face or not since it worked for my back so well.

Pros:

smells great, fruity.... doesn't leave lasting scent on the skin. rinses away easily. stopped my skin from feeling so itchy & cleared up the skin on my back, shoulders, chest, and legs.

Cons:

impossible to find in the UK. costs too much to have delivered from the USA. i wrote to neutrogena and asked for them to stock in the uk and they weren't helpful at all, they said there's no demand for it in the UK.

i have eczema and my skin itches, i have CSP so i pick at my skin often. this takes the edge off the itching & irritation. it has definitely helped to remove dead skin cells and clear my skin. much more gentle than using acid peels or dermabrasion if you have sensitive skin like me. in the shower i leave it on my skin for a couple of minutes then rinse away. biggest problem is the inability to buy this product in the UK. the USA has numerous varied products containing salicylic acid but the UK is lacking. this product should be available here.

Pros:

Smells great
Cheap
Available at any major drugstore

Cons:

Didn't work
Granules way too harsh for sensitive skin
Left a strange residue

I have tried using this product 4 times in my life. Each time I tried it for about a month or so to allow time for my skin to adjust. Every single time I got hyge cyst-like pimples in places I never get pimples normally (my cheeks and underneath my chin.) I tossed it and went back to Proactiv, and then tried using it for a body scrub. Guess what? I started getting acne all over my body which I never get. It was worth the try, but it just didn't work.

Pros:

* Smells nice
* Really exfoliates your skin and gets rid of dead skin cells
* Makes your face feel smooth

Cons:

* Caused initial breakout after a week of use.

I was shopping with my mom to get my usual neutrogena face cleanser, and she pointed out that Biore products were good too. And that I should try something different. So I picked this product up and gave it a try. At first, it seemed to work well as it made my skin feel smooth after every wash (morning & night). But then, by mid next week, I woke up one day and my face started to peel all over!! After I used the scrub to get rid of the DOZENS of dead skin cells, I woke up the next day with little red bumps on my forehead and nose area!!! Seeing that the product was the only thing I did differently to my routine, I discontinued usage. I still have the breakouts and is going away, little by little. I'm not sure if my skin was just "purging" or not, but I really don't have time to go through this all over as I have already purged my skin with the use of vitamin A supplements.

Pros:

I have used this stuff for 15+ years. I love it. It is the only thing that I can find that cleans so good. Nothing else compares. It keeps my skin looking great.

Cons:

So hard to find. I have to pay more now to get on the internet. The ORIGINAL formula is the only one I will buy. The new stuff that is available in stores is TERRIBLE!

Great Product!!

Pros:

I works eventually i guess.

Cons:

It does get rid of the spots, but i found it gave me more in other areas. As if it was spreading it!

Because i would put it on before going to sleep, if you smudge where you put it slightly, you would wake up with a new spot there, Which is totally annoying !!!

Pros:

It does what you want it to do for a period of time, only works for a period of time, you need backup! Right now I'm using ZapZyts and lets see how well that does.

Cons:

BAD SMELL, AWFUL SMELL..but rather you suffer with the smell and deal wit it to have a clear face or a face full of blackheads and pimples?

I was using it for a month, I saw results after the first week after that, none! I have a little thing, if it doesn't work for about a month I move on to the next product! Bad? I know, but why procrastinate on something I don't see any improvements. Everyone else sees improvements but you know your face and if you don't see improvements you aren't satisfied. Little bottle, BIG price.

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
