Pros:

-cleans your face

Cons:

-drys out your skin like no ones business
-smells nasty (in my opinion atleast)
-doesn't do much to clear breakouts

This was the first acne wash I started using. I didn't realize how horrible it was until I stopped using it for a little while. This dried out and made my skin flake horribly, and now that I think about it, it never helped my break outs at all. It might have made them worse considering how much it dried out my skin, and my skin was excreting so much oil to make up for it. the only pro I really have is that it foams up and feels like it cleans your face pretty well... but any other face wash would do that anyway.

Pros:

Vanishes breakouts.

Leaves my skin soft.

Cons:

NOTHING.

I LOVE this product! It's an amazing spot treatment and it does exactly what it says. It always works whenever I breakout and it immediately erases it! It's my favorite product by Clean & Clear. I recommend it to anyone with sudden breakouts. You won't be dissapointed (:

Pros:

smells okay.

clears breakouts.

Cons:

Drys out my skin.

This product worked pretty well for me. I've been using it for a while now, and it has really improved my skin and dissapeared breakouts. Drys out my skin a little bit, but overall it's a great product.

Pros:

Inexpensive

Cons:

Oily
Stings (slightly)

Waste of money. I bought it because there were tons of magazines that raved about this product, but I couldn't tell you why. I used it consistently on a few white heads and cystic pimples a.k.a the ones that swell up and are painful but don't come to a head. After almost a week passed I finally couldn't take using the product with no significant results and just popped them.

Pros:

Great smell, works good to moisturize your skin. Helps make skin glow and feel refreshed. When applied skin feels a tingle but its light and feels good...lets you know its penetrating into the skin.

Cons:

No cons.

Good product, no complaints. Pretty cheap, OTC.

Pros:

None

Cons:

Dries out face
Doesn't clean face

I was hoping this product would be that this-is-it one, but it wasn't. It did nothing for my face. If anything, my face felt dirtier as time went on because it doesn't cleanse well enough. I would give it a negative 10 if I could.

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
