Pros:

too harsh for sensitive skin such as chest area

Cons:

pleasant to apply

This product didn't really work for me. I use it everyday and my back acne just doesn't go away... I also made the huge mistake to use it on my chest where I did not have any acne and it gave me some. I guess this area is too sensitive...

Pros:

It does have a nice scent, and cleared up a little of my acne, while also lessening the readness of my face.

Cons:

It really didn't do much for me. This was the 1st prescription medication that I have used, and it was a big dissapointment.

I really don't think that this a a good product. I read all of the reviews and I guess it just works for certain types of people and certain types of acne. Right away my acne got worse like it was suppose to, but then it did little in clearing up after that. I stayed persistant and used it twice a day for about 4 months now, but still no results. I thank you though for all of the tips and myths on acne, I feel that it will help me a lot and everyone should check them out.

Pros:

This is the only toner that's ever helped in clearing up my skin after bad breakouts.

Cons:

None.

I love this toner. I've used 3 others (Clean and Clear, Proactiv, Neutrogena) and Biore is by far the best. When I can't find it in the store, I order it on [link removed]. It smells good too and it hasn't dried my skin out.

Pros:

Does not dry my skin out at all, unlike every benzoyl peroxide product I've ever used, has prevented new breakouts for the time being.

Cons:

Burned a little at first, but it was not painful.

I plan to use this product as long as it continues to work. I think my skin has developed a resistance to benzoyl peroxide, so this salycilic acid medication is working better, and it doesn't make my skin flake off like the former does!

Pros:

it dries pimple, prevent breakout if used on whole face and small amount can do that.

Cons:

it can and will burn and can make face more prone to sunburn.

it works plain and simple if used correctly as by using clean and clear cleanser and toner before appling and after allowing to dry moisturiser.

Pros:

Love it!! Smells great. didn't irritate my skin. leaves my face feeling super refreshed and clean.

Cons:

haven't seen any yet

I have stuggled with acne for about 6 years now and have tried everything from proactive to tetrecycline from the dermatologist. this year my chin got really bad. with huge pimples. I tried tea tree oil...made it worse. I love arbonne. In one week my skin calmed down and in two I almost have no pimples and the overall tone is much smoother!

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
