Pros:

wow, love the smell, love the feeling, my skin is super soft after using it, makes my skin glow.

Cons:

the beads seem like they might irritate if I scrub too hard, so I'll have to be careful.
oh! they don't recommend how often to use it on the back, so I'm not really sure.

LOVE THIS so far. not sure if it'll work, but smells amazing & makes my skin feel super lovely afterwards. (:

Pros:

Makes skin feel fresh / clean, does help clear the acne most of the times if use is consistent / constant, decreases the look of acne scars, did not leave skin dry.

Cons:

Made my face itchy for a while, gave me outbreak the first time using it, it feels a little stingy the first time I applied it. The itchiness and the stingy feeling went away eventually. A little over priced.

It was a decent product, and I probably wouldn't recommend it to people with heavy acne. Another thing I used immediately after this product was the Biore Pore Minimizing Exfoliator, so perhaps the second product prevented me from having dry skin (to counter the first product that may dry skin). The first product did help with acne prevention. My skin was somewhat dry when I didn't use the exfoliator and just the scrub by itself.

Pros:

I have used this product for over 10 years. I pulls out the dirt that daily face wash leaves behind. As with every acne fighting product, results don't come up over night, consistency and patience is important. You can see results in a week-2 weeks.

Cons:

None really. I use the sensitive brand so no worries about burning. If you keep changing products, regardless of which ones, your face will react negative. Try it out for a month or so. If you don't like then gradually change to a new product.

It works for me. The only times I get pimples are when I stop using the astringent and the oil in my face blocks my pores.

Pros:

Works really well when you first start it

Cons:

Gets really irritateing to your skin when you first start it.
It's easy to build up an immunity to it

Works well for a certain amount of time, but it's starting to have less of an effect on my skin. I'm now using A LOT of the spot treatment as well as the Refining Mask from Proactive to help tackle my problem zits.

Pros:

Works VERY well

Cons:

None, maybe more beads.

I had used this before and stopped using it a while back for whatever reason. I started using this again when another acne scrub (not mentioning any names) made my acne A LOT worse. I started to use this and immediately I noticed an improvement in my acne. Within a week my acne had calmed down and within two weeks my skin got clearer and clearer. My skin is softer and my acne is disappearing! :) Love it!!!

Pros:

smells good.

Cons:

dries skin, makes your acne worst, and aggravated my skin,

i thought the beads would be good for my acne, but because of this product, there are clusters of pimples towards the bottom of my cheek....and i've never had any pimples there before. i only had a few pimples on my face, but every since i used this product my face has been covered with some small and a few BIG pimples! this isn't effective. but i guess some people have different skin types...

Pros:

noticeably shrinks pimples, dries them out relatively quickly, can see the difference within a day or two of use. Definitely works!

Cons:

slight sting upon application, but i actually dont mind that because you can tell its actually doing something.

i have extremely sensitive skin and this is one of the few products i can use without causing severe skin problems- cracking burning etc...would recommend to everyone! I am extremely pleased with this product!

Pros:

Works really well, clears up acne within 24 hours.

Cons:

Stings a little bit, but not too bad.

So amazing, i'd pop a pimple, put it on, and it'd be gone or reduced within the next day. Put it on everyday and you'll be glad to see your clear skin one agian!

Pros:

Smells nice. Packaging is great, I love how it pumps. Easy to apply and wash off( you just need one pump).

Cons:

It may dry your face a little. Should be used only if you have moderately oily to oily skin.

Works great so far. I'll see how it goes.

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
