Pros:

It clears your skin up well. For teens&Adults.
It gets rid of acne FAST

Cons:

When it drys it goes white and if you put it in the "T" zone area some times u may get it near your mouth and it tastes bad

This is the overall best acne cream. It clears your skin up in a week for some but for me the redness went down when i woke up and in three days my blemishes we totally gone. This product is WAYY less costy then the other products like proactive. Where i get it its 29$ but with my Insurance its bascally $3.49 the only problem is you have to use it for a while other wise acne comes back. But no matter what dont think because you have this cream that you can go pig out on bad foods eat healthy and you'll have a wonderful healthy looking complection! I have recommended this product to people who have acne and say the results of this product are wonderful

Pros:

Makes my skin more even toned. Makes emerging pimples go awawy quicker. My forehead use to be horrible but it is COMPLETELY clear now! Also, my nose is clear too.

Cons:

Lots of peeling on chin area and sides of cheeks. I still have white heads on my chin. Still have cystic acne on cheeks.

I use a cetaphil face wash/moisturizer in the morning and use retin-a over it. Then at night i put the benzamycin on after washing my face with cetaphil. Although my face feels tight like it is in a mask, i have to say that my acne has gotten significantly better. My dermatologist told me that it takes about four months for the benzamycin to clear your face up, because it brings the pimples under the surface up. Don't be discouraged if you don't see improvements in a few weeks. Wait a while.

Pros:

Worked great for several years, then for the last 2-3 years minimal if not insignificant success.

Cons:

Bleaches your clothes

Had to move on to a new prescription before going off scrip meds period.

Pros:

Best topical acne medication I've ever used. I saw results in a week and it kept my face clear as long as I used it. I recommend Benzamycin PAK -- you can take them when you travel and they don't need to be refrigerated.

Cons:

Not much, maybe that it dries your skin out for the first few weeks. I'd rather have dry skin than a face full of pimples!

Don't waste your money on drug store on-the-spot treatments. Invest in this prescription instead! You'll save both money and grief in the long run.

Pros:

Cleared my acne noticeably within a week and even works on my back and neck/chest area

Cons:

leaves white on face after it dries

I highly recommend it because it's fast and works so much better than anything else I've ever used before!

Pros:

Worked well, I've been using it for about a week now and it got rid of my acne fast! faster than anything else I've tried atleast.

Cons:

Leaves that white stuff when it dries

Works well but leaves that white stuff, my skin hasnt dried out, but I'm still using proactiv with it as well so it would probably keep you from drying out and turning red if you also washed your face also.

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
