Useless for any serious acne
I was on Clindamycin August 2013 until October 17th, and of all the treatments I tried this was the least effective. You could skip a whole two weeks while on this medicine and nothing would seem different, I understand it is effective on very minor acne sufferers, but if you have more than 3-5 active pimples and they seem persistent I would recommend something more effective.

Works well in conjunction with another product.

Pros:

It works if used correctly

Cons:

Can't be a stand alone product
Drying

It works pretty well with a medicated cleanser and a topical product like benzoyl peroxide. You also need a moisturizer since it dries out the skin.

Pros:

Love it love it! I have used it for about 5 months now and I have bad acne! It did take about a month to really make a big difference. I use it twice a day after washing my face.

Cons:

None

If you use it faithfully and apply twice a day after washing your face you will get the results you have been long waiting for. I have tried every over the counter products and this is the only thing that I found to work successfully.

Pros:

Made face smooth and hydrated. Prevented new breakouts which in turn helped me treat the current breakouts. Within 2 weeks my face was almost clear with the occasional red spot or two.

Cons:

Was told it would work on bacne as well but it did nothing for that, but if you just want it for your face it's good.

I would recommend this product if you have mild to moderate acne on your face. This alone won't work and I would suggest pairing it with a 2.5% benzoyl peroxide cleanser. It can take a while to work, but just stick with it because your skin really will feel softer and smoother if you do.

Pros:

I got it from my nice friend for free.
Less messy coz it comes with a dabbing tube, I don't have to touch anything with my finger.

Cons:

It works slowly. But I can tell it's working, really. All you need is patience.

My first two dermatologist prescribe me to the gel version of Dalacin T 1% They worked fast in the beginning but it started to slow down so I stopped. A year after trying out different things which costed me tens of thousands of Japanese Yen, I'm glad my friend whose parents are doctors introduce me back to Clindamycin Phosphate, and I can see improvement within 2 weeks. If you're tired of anything else and don't mind to wait until it works, I recommend this. btw, I'm using neutrogena face wash and face scrub too. I think they works well together with my dalacin t.

Pros:

cleared my skin up really nicely, i had whiteheads and blackheads

Cons:

for the first little while it dried my skin out a bit but i just picked up a great oil free moisturizer (clinique's dramatically different moisturizer)

-wash your face no more and no less than 2x a day -moisturize in the morning and use the gel at night -dont skip a day of face washing (thats what always gets me!!) -dont pop your pimples!!! ( i know its hard but they will heal faster if you let them be) -worth it, worth it, worth it!

Pros:

Clears acne very quickly!! No dryness or redness etc

Cons:

Used it until the first bottle ran out however, spots came back a few months later ... however, the 2nd time round this did not work so I'm guessing I became immune to it. Also, I remember it took a while to dry (I used the lotion).

Great if you have never used this topical antibiotic before. However, maybe using the ones combined with benzoyl peroxide would prevent the bacteria becoming resistant to it! I live in England so got it free on NHS.

Zindaclin works fast!
Hi folks! Just started using zindaclin, which was prescribed by my gp on Wednesday, and since then I have noticed that my spots have diminished considerably - there's only one left on my nose but I'm sure that'll go soon, too. However, I am still left with a lot of inflammation (I have inflammatory acne) but I hope that the gel will address that as well but I can't complain, as It is working so well on my skin, aside from the drying effect but I use a good moisturiser so it's not that bad. At this point, I am confident that it will control my acne and help reduce the inflammation in combination with lymecycline (also on prescription) but it's way too early to be commenting on the effect(s) of the latter as I've only been taking it for a few days. Anyway, zindaclin definitely works at getting rid of spots, and I highly recommend it to all those who have papules and pustules like me. Thumbs up!

Mild cystic acne begone!
Clindamycin, my old friend. I had some cystic bacne in high school, a few constant spots, and mild facial acne. This cleared my back right up, but didn't really do anything for my face. I would recommend for mild cystic acne ( though those words seem contradictory, mild cystic), but not for regular whiteheads/ prevention.

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
