Pros:

Still completely keeps the deep big pimples away from my forehead and face.

Cons:

Still have the small occasional pimples on my cheeks that are hard to get rid of.

It works. The pills can only take u so far, you have to drink water, sleep, and exercise for even better skin. I love this because it gets rid of the major acne problem that I had and I can use face washes for the small mild pimples i have now.you have to use it for at least three months to see results. I know I did, even know it was frustrating as hell. seriously, keep using it, for at least three months. it'll go by faster than u think.

Pros:

Cheap

Cons:

Did Not Work as Well as Neutrogena No-the-Spot. It feels greasy. Does not feel like it is absorbed into the face.

I have been on the Regimen for about 2 month now. First, I used Neutrogena's because it is what I had around. After a month of spending so much, I decided to try the Gel. Got it and used it for 2 and a half weeks. It kept some of the spots that the neutrogena got rid of a way. However, I started to get a couple more brake out spots. So I switch back to Neutrogena and they where gone in 4 days.

Pros:

It smells great and it really works!

Cons:

It got rid of all my blackheads. The little pimples disappeared FAST but it takes a while for the big ones to go away. It leaves my face feeling fresh and clean.

If you have dry skin, after applying the 3rd step, put on a LIGHT moisturizer and you'll be fine. It worked for me. But not everyone will getfast results. If your pimples are BAD..you migh want to try something else. Try Proactive for about a couple months and if you see no result, don't waste your time or money on it! Good luck!

Pros:

Completely gets rids of whiteheads and existing pimples. Gives you an even, glowing complexion.
My fabric didnt get bleached or anything and my skin didnt even dry out...probably because i used the Proactiv moisturizer too.

Cons:

Didnt particulalry stop new, painful pimples from forming, but as thats's part of the treatment, i was warned it may happen. Also, it was a bit pricey.

This stuff comes in really tiny bottles, but dont panic, it will still last the promised amount of time: two months. I have two words for you: BUY IMMEDIATELY! Persistance with this product will wipe away traces of acne scars too and it gives you a wonderful, fresh radiance. After i was done with proactiv, i started breaking out again, mildly though, so i used clearasil, and its done wonders.

Pros:

My Skin is not flaky. It was flaky to start with. I figured with BP and the "leather face" feel, that I would flake real bad, but I didn't

Cons:

The refining mask hasn't worked for me, I was beginning to get a zit on my forehead and I used it overnight, now I have a full on pimple! Other than not being flaky, I don't see much improvement.

I bought this product because I have blackheads, and even though its unsightly acne, it sucks looking like a strawberry w/out make-up. I hope this product helps, I have only been using it a few days. I was disappointed though, when I opened my package. If it works so well, why do they have a whole line of pimple fighting products. On TV they make it sound like 3 little steps...like that's all you need, then you open the box and they are selling you make-up, and face wipes, lotions, even dandruff shampoo. It makes me loose some faith in this product, I hope it works!

Pros:

Smelled nice... seemed to work

Cons:

Expensive, needs continuous regular usage

Proactiv was controlling my life! AAH! In order for it to work for me, I needed to be so thorough with it. But the price was killing my wallet. I stopped using it and developed really deep, cyst like acne, something i never had before. I'm not impressed.

Pros:

it makes your face feel clean. Gets rid of little bumps fast, but takes longer on big bumps...

Cons:

it creates a dependacy...if you stop using it, it'll make your face break out even more.

proactive works!
December 26, 2007

Pros:

it seems like a well organized process

Cons:

DOES NOT work at all, makes skin significantly worse, smells TERRIBLE, makes skin dry, makes you break out all over,

it's a waste of time and does not work. If i were you i'd visit a dermatologist first because they can recommend a better product. proactiv is very overrated and shouldn't be for how poorly it works.

Pros:

i didnt change at all.

Cons:

i still had lots of blackheads while using thi. my skin was oily

I don't have bad acne so i dunno if it works well

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
