Pros:

Makes your skin smooth right after you use it...

Cons:

After a while it's like your skin is immune to it and it stops working... I got more acne scars... I think my skin has gotten oiler since I've been using it... and step one irrates my skin after using it.

Overall, it's okay for a while then once your skin becomes "immune" to the acne treatment, it would either get better or get worse. And it still leaves your skin with tons of dirt after you use it. I'm just disappointed.

Pros:

I just started using the product tonight and it leaves my skin dry, which for me...is good because i have oily skin....

Cons:

I havent used the day cream yet, im afraid it will make my skin even more oily from what ppl say

Dont know how it works yet, i just returned some clean & clear which made me break out over night...so far clearasil is the best, we'll see how this works

Pros:

at first it feels like it has rlly cleaned your skin and is starting to work,

Cons:

the box says you will see results in as little as 3 days, more like 5!

sure it takes away some what of the acne that you currently have, but i rlly didn't see any improvment on the subject of it preventing future breakouts.

Pros:

This product really cleared up my skin.

Cons:

The product kind of made my skin oily but it didnt affect the outcome.

I have had acne since i was 11 and im almost 15 now and for about a year i havent seen a blemish on my face. i could cry im so happy about my results and im no longer being made fun of because of my acne. The product takes a full 2 weeks to work but you will notice minor results every mornnig.

Pros:

It works! I have been suffering from horrible acne for 14 years, and the only other cure for me is pregnancy. This product works wonders, and I have tried everything. I love that the owners are so careful about using healthy ingredients as well!

Cons:

None!

I have been using this product for about a year, and I have clear skin for the first time in 14 years outside of pregnancy. Everyone should at least give Carley's a try! I never feel like I have to question the motives or integrity of the owners either. They work so hard to make sure every ingredient had a purpose and is safe to put on your skin. These products also last forever. You get so much for your money. It is the least amount I have had to pay for acne treatments, and it is the only one that has really worked. Their one-step system is also very time saving.

Pros:

Very fast acting and by far the best product I've ever used (and I've tried many)

Cons:

Sometimes hard to find at stores. My skin isn't flawless, but I'm getting much better results than I've ever gotten before.

I highly recommend giving it a try, especially if creams haven't worked for you in the past. The pills are more effective than the cream for me, but the best part is that it tackles both major causes of acne.

Pros:

Cleared up my acne within weeks of using it - nothing before has worked for me! My complexion was near perfect

Cons:

I've recently gone off the birth control pill, and my acne has come back. The pill itself did not help my acne but it was a combination of the pill and Clinique that saved my skin. I've started having trouble since I went off.

It's a miracle worker when used in conjunction with birth control (for me anyway). Without it's pretty much a run-of-the mill cleanser.

Pros:

Makes red spots fade, some spots seem to be going away now

Cons:

Really burns the skin, makes it go dry

This product is quite good, it hasnt made a lot of my spots go away but my parents and my sister are all saying that my skin is looking a bit clearer. I have only been using this product for 3 days, but now it really does burn my skin. I am using neutrgoena oil free acne moisturizer after using this to make my skin no longer be as dry after using the product. Just be aware that this product does burn the skin quite a bit, but all in all my spots are fadng away.

Pros:

Shrinks the pimple quite a bit after an hour within applying it, and by the next morning my acne all over my face is pretty much gone. Helps with oily skin.

Cons:

MAY dry your skin out, it doesnt for me me, but i have very oily skin. Leaves a flaky patch when you wake up in the morning, but if you just wash your face, it'll be gone.

This is my "desert island" if anything is. Its my holy grail product and I would recommend it to anyone who hates acne! I'm 13 and i had pretty bad acne... Ive used Mario Bedescu, Dermalogica, Neutrogena, Zeno, Clean & Clear, and this is the one thing i'm always going back to!

Pros:

This worked great for me, it didn't clear all of my acne... but a lot of it!

Cons:

Stops working as strong as the start

Its a great product, but doesn't clear everything.

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
