Pros:

not too many...

Cons:

frangrance, burning, time consuming, NO POSITIVE RESULTS, costs more than its worth

i wasted a lot of money and many months believing that proactive's promise of clear skin would eventually come through. day and night, i followed their program religiously and i NEVER saw results. proactive seems to work primarily for people who have only a pimple here or there. it treats pimples, not acne... two totally different things. if you're condition is either moderate (or worse) and/or persistent, then you should see a derm and get some real help. accutane made my skin flawless after two months and the acne never came back. i can't believe i even bothered with silly products like proactive.

Pros:

Dries up pimples.

Cons:

Doesnt absorb into your face so it irritates my pimples when i wash it off. When i washed it off my face was also very red and stung a little but the redness went away in about and hour.

Will help acne but it definitley can leave face dry or red. I do not reccomend you putting this on clear spots of your face, only on pimples. I also feel it works better on smaller pimples than bigger ones. I started today, and the small ones are already clearing up. This also barely has

Pros:

Works amazingly well! So much better than the Neutrogena On the Spot (which can leave your face looking white). Dan's formula goes on clear -no one will ever know you loaded so much on !

Cons:

none

If you follow the directions, it's going to work, go ahead and buy the big bottle!

Pros:

Made my skin smooth, and most importantly, acne free. It is truly a miracle product

Cons:

Somewhat tedious

It is an effective acne medication that, when used properly, will eventually stop breakouts. Everyone out there who attempts to use the product for a few days or complains that it makes them break out even more is most likely ignorant about the process of eliminating acne. Yess!!! It will make the acne worse for the first weeks or so. It is drawing up all the hidden residue and bacteria from the pores and pulling it to the surface. Then, once those pimples go away, your face will be clear. Make sure you use the products as directed. I have never had clear skin and this is the only product that has made my face completely clear. Don't be discouraged AND use your own moisturizer (the acne lotion is not the same as a moisturizer).

Pros:

Helped clear and prevent big break outs

Cons:

Didnt clear all pimples. Dried my skin out badly and made it peel. Burns really badly if it gets near your eyes. Stains everything.

Might be good if you just started having break outs. Can be costly and messy.

Cons:

Cheap stuff will not cure urs acne, but making it worst

I been using this product for 1 1/2 year and this product does not clear any of my acne but it makes my skin dry, red, large pore and the worse part are scars due to harsh drugs. If you have acne and wondering wat option out there, talk to urs doctor about laser resurfacing Fraxel, Careful in choosing urs best acne treatment, if not , it will leave with scars and even more acne.

Pros:

Cleared up acne for a little while, is all natural.

Cons:

Stops working after a while

I started taking these pills about 9 months ago. At first, my skin really cleared up. But starting in December, which is the 6th month, i started noticing my breakouts coming back. I kept taking the pills, hoping it was temporary, but it didnt help. It got even worse, and my face looked horrible. I hate this product, and I have now moved on to Murad. Murad is much much better and more effective than this Nature's Cure stuff. Dont be fooled. This is going to bring your breakouts back after a while. I have now learned my lesson.

Pros:

Ummm, it worked really well for me, that's the Pro!

Cons:

Can't find it in (local) stores.

I had moderate acne starting in highschool and had tried and been prescribed tetracycline, doxcycline, differin, 10% BP, Proactiv, witch hazel, and about 7-8 others. None of those made a difference whatsoever except sometimes the Proactiv mask stuff for spots. So I tried to just wait it out and outgrow it, but it didn't seem that was going to happen as I still had it my sophomore year of College. I had checked this site before and read a lot of Dan's stuff and decided to just go ahead and do it. I am so glad I did! I did the complete routine from the very start and saw pretty good results after about 2 weeks. I kept going through gradually upping the bp dose and after about 4 months, my acne was 95% clear. Clear as in almost zero spots. At that point I couldn't keep up with the routine (laziness)and now I use the purpose soap, bp gel and moisturizer every other day. I still fluctuate between 90%-95% clear after cutting back, but that's 90-95% better than what I was.

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
