Pros:

My skin is sooooooo soft and pretty much blemish- free with only about 5 small ones you can't even see! I was trying so many acne medications and none seemed to work. You feel amazing and re-freshed

Cons:

It could smell better

Use it. It works.

Pros:

Rapidly eliminates pimples and prevents future pimples.

Cons:

Drying of the skin in the begining.

After my grandmother's death, we were all very busy and stressed. The night before the funeral, my sister looked at me and let me know that we needed to go to the store to buy a product. Mainly, my cheeks and foreheads had the most pimples. When we got to the store, we read the back of every product. When we got back to the house, I immediately applied the product and fell asleep watching television. The next morning, both my sister and I were amazed. I strongly recommend Clean & Clear Persa-Gel 10, Maximum Strength.

Pros:

made my skin feel good after i got done washing it. esp with the mask, and the green tea moisterizer

Cons:

works some days, other days i wake up with more breakouts all over my face, my skin is redder than before, and i have white heads all over now.

It didnt start working for me until after a month, and it worked for a few days, then my breakouts got worse.

Pros:

Clears up all acne after 8 weeks of proper use. Value for money.

Cons:

Dries up skin for the first few weeks

The best acne product by far I've ever used. Clearasil and on the spot treatment gels didn't work for me but this it totally cleared up my acne after 8 weeks and I still use it to prevent new spots from forming. I just followed the instructions that came with it and started to use more product when my skin got used to it. Highly recommended to anyone with moderate acne. I'm so glad I found this before I had to resort to antibiotics and retin-a for a 3 month trial period!

Pros:

Face seems clearer, acne slightly reduced but not totally.

Cons:

none so far...

ive only used it a couple weeks and it has reduced my acne a bit but hasnt really totally made it go away. when i first used it it didnt really make my skin itchy but it did burn for quite a while but i was told thats how you know it works. it has also made my skin a little more dry after, but then again all acne medications have, but i havent had the itchiness, or peeling or even signs of it like many others claim they have.

Pros:

Worked well for 3 years. I had the occasionally monthly premenstrual zit, but that was it.

Cons:

expensive
it made my acne worse after 3 years of usage

I guess this product works well with others. It did for me, but now I'm breaking out even more, and I'm about to get married so I'm stuck. Depressing.

Pros:

exfoliates well, reduces breakouts, smells good, controls oil, doesn't dry my skin

Cons:

the price, having to use several different products (cleanser, toner, lotion, mask)

i really love this product. ive been using it for about 3 years (on and off) and it's really helped my skin. i still get small breakouts now and then but overall my skin is much clearer and the oilyness is reduced. ive tried tons of other brands like neutrogena, vichy, bioré, oxy, and clean and clear but this one works the best by far. at the beginning it can irritate your skin a bit, but just wait a few months because your skin will get used to the formula and won't get irritated anymore.

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
