Pros:

This is the best product I have EVER used!! Clears up pimples within a few days and help prevent them!

Cons:

No Cons!

I had Acne as a teenager and had gone to a dermatolgist, she of course wanted me to go on accutane, once I heard the side effects it scared me at 16, I tried several other products with no success. Eventually my acne went away and I attributed to being a teenager. When I turned 25 my acne came back, but was much worse! I tried EVERYTHING.. differn gerl, proactic, vitamins, expensive department store products and etc. Nothing worked for me... I stumbled on to this site looking for reviews on other products. Still frustrated with nothing working I started searching this site more and found the store.. I thought hmm, it's inexpensive what do I have to lose? and I ordered the product. After about 2 weeks I had people complimenting on how good my skin looked and wanted to know what I was using. I was so excited to find something that final works! You have saved me! It's so awesome to find something so great!

Pros:

Clears up blemishes for the first week

Cons:

-MADE MY SKIN WORSE WITH BIG CYST PIMPLES
-Drying
-Burning in the Sun

I bought proactive on the strong recommendations from my friends. I have always been blessed with clear skin, tiny pores. A couple of months ago I had a couple of blemishes by my hair line only say 5 all together on my face that would heal and then leave a maroon colored mark on my face. A bit concerned that I was getting adult acne I wanted to take preventive measures and help heal the blemishes I had now and ordered PROACTIVE at first it seems to help the first week then I noticed I was getting eraser sized, painful blemishes that were cyst like. I have NEVER had pimples like that before EVER. I followed the directions closely used it 2x a day every day then I alternated and used it only once. I realized the moment you stop using once, immediately you will break out WORSE than before. I have now 20 pimples on my face and after one painful cyst pimple heals another once comes right out. Because of Proactive I have the worst acne of my life. Do not buy it.

Pros:

Your skin LOOKS a little better for a few seconds right after using the cleanser.
It does work.... EVENTUALLY...and prevents Big pimples

Cons:

It dried out my skin like crazy! i had a whole layer of skin peel off!!
If you stop, even just one day, you get 10 times as many pimples as you did before!
It tightens your skin on your face so it feels weird to move your mouth for a few minut

It works OK. I would recommend it for someone with extreme acne, but if you get 2 or 3 pimples like i used to get, don't bother. it will probably just damage your skin more than do anything good to it. It also does NOTHING about hormonal pimples,,,, you know ladies, those we get about once a month. NADA!

Pros:

Cons:

Its great trust me. I dont think it should be sold for so much money but its great. Us3ed it for like a week and saw improvement but used it with a blemish control soap called Black Opal.

Pros:

It clears up severe acne but it doesn't clear it entirely. I have been using this product for a about 2 weeks in september and had my severe acne had cleared up, But I didn't follow the instructions, I only used it once a day. At night

Cons:

This stuff burns like crazy when you first use it, but after a couple days of usage your skin gets used to it and it starts working. It also makes a red inflamed appearance, kinda looking like Roscea, but that ends in a couple of minutes, or overnigh

Get it, I have tried Proactiv while using this because my friend had came out the trees and gave me his Proactiv kit. My acne would have been gone if I had either continued using AcneFree, or If I didn't run out of Proactiv, I also didn't follow the directions of either of them, So I bet if I had start appyling it day and night I will see better results. Its not better that Proactiv, But its about the same thing. The perfume is horrible though and Proactiv feels better. Its cheaper too.

Pros:

it works for the first couple of weeks.

Cons:

flaky, dry skin; burning when toner is applied
toner smells weird. when i used proactiv i got a few cysts which were not noticeable but i felt them under my skin.. ive never had cysts before using proactiv. a bad con. now that im off, i dont get t

at first, it worked. i truly thought it was different from other cleansers. i was really happy in the first two-three weeks that i used it. my acne cleared up, my acne scars were gone, and the only problem was that my skin FELT in pain even tho it looked good. it was so dry that i couldnt fully open up my mouth. but i endured cuhz i was that desperate for clear skin. but then after a month and a half to two months of use, my skin had endured it. new pimples came. i got used to it sadly. i have oily skin and usually get pus-filled red pimples if that helps all you people out there. it didnt work for me. hopefully itll work for you cuhz everyone is different.

Pros:

it worked well on me, i had a very severe acne problem but proactiv has been the only thing that cleared it up! i went to several different dermatologists and nothing has worked on me. they said it was something in my blood- this worked!

Cons:

it dried up my skin really bad the first couple times i used it- just do all the three steps - youll be okay- remember we are all different- about the peling off girl- even in beverly hills dermas with thousands of dollars -thats what they will do!

if you have a bad layer of skin- you need to get rid of it- this will

Pros:

Tightens pores, Cheap

Cons:

Dries skin, inflammation, swelling, breakout, doesn't react well with my skin, smells awful!!!

Awful product, definitely not better than ProActiv. I would never endorse it, and I only used it for two days. I used an ice bag to try and decrease the inflammation and swelling.

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
