Pros:

I used the product for the first 2 days and everything was fine, i used it the 3rd morning after i washed my face, i dabbed small amounts around my face and smoothed in, later i was itching like mad!

Cons:

I took a shower to clean it off , but after the shower my face is now red! and looks a mess --- dont use it, seriously ask your doctor first or use the tinest amounts , like a thumb print amount.

I will discontinue use of the product, due to the redness, ill re post if i get worse acne than before, my acne isnt that bad iv got like 4 -6 spots on my face, and some on my back, but i hope it dosnt get worser.... ill repost and tell u guys.

Pros:

Cons:

This product did not work for me at all. My skin ended up turing out worse then it was before i started using Acnefree. I regret ever using it after looking back at pictures and wishing i had that skin again before using this product. I would not reccomend it.

Pros:

It did clear up my acne... at first.

Cons:

After the first few months, it's like I wasn't even using anything.

When I first started, it cleared up my acne and I felt like doing a Proactiv commercial to let everyone know how great it works. After over a year of using, I finally found something else. After about three months of using it, I noticed that I kept getting more and more pimples. Soon, I noticed that I had little underground zits all over my chin and nose. I freaked out because my skin never looked like that. I kept with it, thinking it would clear up and it just didn't change. My acne WAS light.. Now it's moderate. Thanks Proactiv. -It was 49.95 for every two months.

Pros:

Makes my skin very soft!
It feels more natural, and 'purified', not overdrying at all, and definitely moisturizes well.

Cons:

Still waiting to see clarity results... and I feel like my skin is more scarred now that I've started using this. I've been using for about 3 months now, and people usually see results within 3-6 weeks and I still break out a lot, so not sure yet.

I'm going to keep waiting and using this, because with the results everyone's been describing, I feel like it's worth it. However, if it takes TOO long, I might stop. But I DO love how 'natural' my face feels. Just my acne is definitely not great right now.

Pros:

I am very impressed with this product. You need to be persistent and use it for at least 2-3 weeks consistantly to see results but it really does keep the acne at bay and you wake up pimple free.

Cons:

I use the toner (step 2) only once every other day since it dries out your skin and I have dry skin to begin with, therefore I use face moisturizer after step 1 and again after step 3 dries.

I am hooked and will be using this product for a long time.

Pros:

It was clearing up my acne, it seemed to work the same as procactive for half the prices.

Cons:

It dried up my skin so badly my face is pilling. I don't know if it is because i used it every night or the lotion was crap, i found the moisturizer really watery and didn't work very well my mom isn't letting me use.

Iam not using it because it dried out my skin and made it very red. I would said yes use this product but get strong lotion with no Benzoyl stuff and maybe only use it at night then another product in the morning. I liked it because it was only have the price of most products for way more product

Pros:

I have always have acne problem around my jaw area and recently I started getting some on my forehead as well. The acne gel dries up my acne after only 1 or 2 uses!

Cons:

Really dry and flaky skin. After maybe 2 days, the skin on my jaw becomes really really dry and itchy. New acne starts popping up along my jaw. Mind you I live in Hong Kong which is famous for it's humidity and still my skin is extremely dry now....

The gel really does work but if you have sensitive skin, stay away from it. Also, you should start with PanOxnyl 5% first. I didn't and the 10% is just too strong for my sensitive skin....

Cons:

Must you use is EXACTLY as prescribed or results can be bad

I swear by this product and have been using it for the last several years. It's the only prouct I've found that cleared up my adult cystic acne, and at 1/2 the price of most other things, it can't be beat. Customer service is amazing, shipping is very fast. Money back guarantee on all their items! Why WOULDN'T you try it?!

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
