Pros:

The mask wrks great!

Cons:

Only works at the beginning. The cleaner is alright the rest doesn't work.

Just get the cleaner then take vitamin B5(about 10 a day) n ur skin will clear up in a week!!!! I've been suffering with acne since highschool n I finally figured it out u need to take care of the problem from the inside out. Take the vitamins n wash your face with an acne cleaner just in case

Pros:

It really clear up my skin for the first month...i actually saw improvement the first week i use it.But then my skin eventually got immune

Cons:

It didnt work as much as the first month i use it.it made my skin slightly dry and tight.

I would recommended this product,But only if you do not have that much of a sensitive'‚skin and that you have no allergy to Benzoyl Peroxide. i think you also must use all 3 product without subducting for somthing else or you really wont see improvement. If you see that your skin is tooooo dry then reduce the amount.i still use the wash and sometimes the lotion.i use the acne lotion for only stubborn pimples. But i notice i have to use alot of the acne lotion in order to see improvement.

I decided to order the kick a** treatment because of all the great reviews on this site. I have severe acne and nothing was working very well, including dan's regimen. I haven't had any new pimples so far. Now i just have to find out how to get rid of my scars.

Pros:

Makes skin clean, I suppose. My skin glows-despite acne.
The refining mask is the best out of all the steps.

Cons:

The cleanser can be very irritating to the skin. It also made my skin become dry, and flaky (I had to moisturize a lot). The scent can be a lot to get used to. Expensive, I payed $60 for one kit!

The 3 steps are good, but not great. It has reduced some of my acne. The cleanser is quite harsh to the skin, so don't use too much of it, especially when first starting. I like using the toner after a shower; it makes my skin clean and refreshed. The repairing lotion is great. It uses benzoyl peroxide and i find it to be the best out of the 3 steps. There's not much in that bottle, though. As for the refining mask, I like it. It is alright as a spot treatment and I will continue to use it, although I am gradually slowing down using the system. I find proactiv to be too drying to my skin...it takes lots of moisturizer to get rid of the flakiness. Too expensive and difficult to get. Don't get sucked in just because celebrities use it and its on TV. I wouldn't recommend it, although you may want to give it a try, to see for yourself. Just remember-it's drying, expensive, hard to get, and you may not like how there are lots of steps.

Pros:

Ends acne

Cons:

Small expensive portions

Best product I've ever used. I'm a 25 y.o. female who used to have severe large pimples on my chin. It was hideous. I've used stuff from department stores, the clean and clear line, Differin gel, benzoyl peroxide in all percentages - the list goes on and on. I finally forked over $75 to some girl at a kiosk in the mall and bought Proactiv. The change in the first 2 days was visible. I saw results right away. I had a little dryness on my face, but I used Clinique oil free moisture and it went away. When followed correctly by completing all steps twice a day, my acne really did disappear. I have no plan on buying any other product or spending more on prescription topicals. You should try it because they offer a money back guarantee.

Pros:

Worked great! reduced/got rid of most of my pimples within a week, no irritation after the first day or so.

Cons:

very thick consistancy, leaves skin feeling cakey.

I had a particualrly bad break out that id had for months and had just been using a non benzol peroxide based pimple creme and an AHA gel, these weren't working and i noticed the acne was spreading across my whole forhead with large red pimples as well as smaller ones as opposed to just on the sides as it had been for aages (those never went away) but then i started using this product every morning and night and followed the rest of the regime with cetifil clenser and moisteriser and not touching skin etc. My acne on myforehead is now better than it has been in over a year, with the majority of it clearing up within a week! I actually bought the benzol peroxide made especially for the regime thinking id need it as itd take a while for the acne to clear but the results with this clearsil product have been so fast. I now only have a bout 4 or 5 pimples left as opposed to like 15 or 20.

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
