Pros:

Exfoliates dead skin away, you can actually FEEL it working the first time you use it. MOST OF THE TIME, it clears your face up just fine.

Cons:

Dries skin out BADLY-although I do have sensitive skin. Bleached many shirts, towels, and now I'm discovering my eyebrows and hair around face are lighter.

Proactiv is good-sometimes. You can't live w/it, can't live without it is how I feel. My face usually gets really dry one week out of the month and proactiv does not help that at all. The rest of the month, it's fine. When I'm using it, I complain about it. But the second I run out and have to use something else till next shipment comes in, I'm begging for it!...? The moisturizer isn't strong enough I feel though. I have to reapply over and over, and still my face is a little dry-esp. eyebrows, around mouth and eyes, etc. But it is a very strong treatment that gets rid of "big acne" as I call it. I still have flare ups every month, mostly due to hormones, not severe acne or anything. I'm kinda indifferent about this product. I've been using it for years and complaining, but can't give it up!Also, the cleanser exfoliates- which I never understood why we would need to do that twice a day 7 days a week?? No wonder it dries out faces so bad. They need a reg. cleanser that isn't exfoliating

Pros:

It helped keep my acne under control! It is the best product I have used so far. I have only used the clenser though so I am going to try the system. But the clenser is AMAZING!

Cons:

Nothing really bad.

Great Product. I am going to try the system and stick with it and see what happens

Pros:

decent price, goes on easy, works pretty fast, no smell

Cons:

dries skin a bit, not too bad though

I have used EVERYTHING and gotta say the Regimen is in my top 3, possibly top of all the things that has worked for me, and my acne was bad!!!! It was bad to the point that my girl called me pizza face. It worked in about a week, I have been on it now for a month and have no more bumps/pimples, its the smoothest I been in years. I have a few scars/blemishes but those go away with time. For the price, definitely one of the best things out there hands down!

Pros:

Clears the skin of excess oil, decreases pimple soreness, and smells awesome!

Cons:

None! Although drying of the skin may raise some people's eyebrows, it helps regenerate the skin below old pimple scars and eventually make them flake off.

Downright awesome!

Pros:

My dermatologist precribed me the generic form of Triaz and it has worked wonders. I have had acne since I was twelve and this product has reduced the acne tremendously. I have been on it for almost five months and I am 75-80% clearer. Love it a lot!

Cons:

The cost of Triaz is rediculous if your insurance will not pay for it. Ask your dermatologist about OSCION, the genric form of Triaz. Works AMAZINGLY!!!

Even if you cannot afford Triaz, there are other ways to get clearer skin. Ask about your dermatologist for the generic. You won't regret this product!!!!

Pros:

it's working....

Cons:

can't buy in shops, only online, it's not cheap, but i would spend anything to have healthy beautful skin at last

i got my proactiv yesterday, and never would believe in just 24 hours, my skin is getting better, i just believed it would never work, and everyone who talked about it, was an actor. not true, im a normal housewife, aged 31 that still gets acne, at my age i should not be getting spots?, i never had spots at school, i was the girl everyone wanted to be, but now im getting them... and i have tried everything, and proativ was my last try, i really believed it wouldn't work and i would be asking for my money back, in 60 days, i won't be, my skin still has spots, its only been 24 hours so far, but this morning, i woke, to my spots not being so red and big, but to tiny stops thats look like there going, omg, this stuff is great, i have ordered more proactiv items, which i will recieve soon, can't wait. i can't wait to see what my skin looks like in a few months, i can only guess that its gone get better and better...

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
