Pros:

-Works!
-Easy application
-Improves skin on second day of use

Cons:

-can sting a little while foam is applied
-has to be rinsed off. so application and showering times must be thought out.

AMAZING! I have been struggling with chest and back acne for a while now. I have always made sure to keep the area clean and have used Terminator 10(works well on face) though I have had no luck. I also tried a cream that my dermatologist recommended which which was difficult to apply and didn't work. BenzEFoam worked right away and is super easy to apply. Defiantly give it a try!

Pros:

I am 35 years old and out of the blue starting suffering from acne that seems to be hormonal. I have never had acne issues, even when going through puberty so this has been devestating at my age. I have spent lots of money on face washes, treatments, lotions, foundations, etc trying to find the right fix and I stumbled across acne.org. I first tried the Nutragena On the Spot and I did get good results but since that worked so well, I decided to try Dan's solutions and I am Super Pleased!!

Cons:

It takes longer to rub in, which is the whole point of what helps it work, but I have to allow extra time to get ready. It was very drying at first, but my skin adjusted within a week.

I still get some breakouts, especially around 'that time' but after everything else I have purchased, I am very happy with the results from using this along with Dan's other items! Thank you!!!!

Pros:

clears up acne.
face feels so clean and fresh.

Cons:

the 3-step system doesnt help with the scars itself.

TRY IT. i had severe acne and i dont mean like 3-4 pimples, i mean my entire cheeks and chin were packed of pimples. I was embarrased of going outside even with makeup. I had tried everything and nothing worked so i decided to give proactiv a shot. and im telling you, i've used it for about a month and 75% of my acne is GONE! im so happy i decided to buy it. The only thing left for me to get rid of is the scars. It's true though when they say that your face might break out when you stop using it, but $20 a month is a small amount to pay inorder to have a clean, fresh, pimple-free face.

Pros:

Cheap price
Convenient because it is available in every drugstore
Reduces redness and dries up pimples fast
Lightens up acne scars

Cons:

May take a few weeks before noticing the effectiveness
Leaves skin very dry if doesn't use with any moisturizer

I tried this product as an alternative while waiting for my regimen kit to arrive this july. Because I ran out of acne maintenance and don't wanna come back to my old dermatologist to purchase their way too expensive products, I stumbled upon this product while researching on the net. Its been a month of using panoxyl 2.5% and I can't say that its perfect but it did help tone down my angry pimples and notice that my acne marks which consists mostly of red papules lighten up. I rarely put moisturizer because of my super oily face and very humid weather here in philippines and it did left my face dry but not that bad...

Pros:

clears skin
A lot of people say it dries out their skin, but it made mine soft!
has a yummy scent

Cons:

None so far!

USE IT! I used Proactiv for 6 years and still struggled with bad skin. I'm 23 and got tired of fighting with it. I read somewhere that this stuff worked, so I tried it and wah-la! It has been wonderful so far. I recommend it to anyone who struggles with acne. I hope they never stop making it!

Pros:

I loved the Repairing Lotion, Refining Mask and Green Tea Moisturizer.

Cons:

Expensive, extra products pricey for how much you get, did nothing for me.

I saw Proactive as my "wonder product". I expected it to be my last step in treating acne. It wasn't. Whilst I saw a dramatic improvement in my skin after about 8-9 weeks, it pretty much stopped its "wonder" there. My skin wasn't clear, I still had breakouts, and when I had them they were big, red and much, much worse than they used to be. I used Proactive for 8 months and I was sadly disappointed. The only product I would recommend is the Green Tea Moisturizer, but only because I found it soothing. Their prices are extreme ($60 for 50ml moisturizer) and off-putting. I wouldn't recommend at all. So disappointed.

Pros:

the first time you use it, you feel like its working.
and thats it...

Cons:

dried my skin out so bad.
made it oily in areas, like quite oily
pricey ($117.00 + every THREE months!)
the commercials make it out to be gods gift for acne sufferers
toner and repair sometimes sting drier areas of skin

i'm in my last year of high school and this year has been my worst year for breakouts, however, i was sucked in by the commericials and the idea of having clear skin like katy perry lead me to buying the product. i was extremely disappointed with this product. the first time i used it my skin did feel better but after 2 weeks of using it my face has never been so pimply (some were very painful :( ) and covered in dry patches and oily areas. i called the customer care line, to get my return authorization number. the woman i spoke to was so RUDE and unhelpful and told me my next shipment was due to arrive in 24 hours (its over 72 hours now) and i had to wait to send it all back together. i don't recommend this to anyone. BUT not everyones skin type is the same so try it because you'll never know if it works for you or not.

Pros:

Refining mask is very good

Cons:

expensive
too harsh

II tried it for 2 consecutive days, once a day as recommended to start. The mornng of the third day I had a severe reaction to the product. My entire face and neck was swollen and I had a severe rash. My face felt like it had been burnt. I spent over $100.00 trying to clear this up within the first week of use which includes prescriptions and allergy medications along with allergy cream. Along with time off work because I had to go to emergency. Even after all this my face is still very itchy and the rash has not gone away. Do not use until you are sure it will not affect you like this.

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
