best acne treatment
I've tried every formulation of benzoyl peroxide acne medication available, but I must say dermalmd serum does work quickly. Rather than as a spot treatment, I use it all over my face, concentrating on problem areas. A couple of cystic bumps that would have been there for weeks are almost gone after 4 days of use! No excess dryness using once per day. Wondering if it's due to the inclusion of citric acid? Whatever the reason, I'm impressed so far.

Pleased
I have had acne ever since the age of 12. I am now 18 going on 19 & it is pretty severe on my cheeks & chin. I started using the regimen in September & its now November. I have seen drastic changes in the active acne I used to have before using the product. I used to have bumps, cysts, and whiteheads all across my cheeks and chin area, but now they just look like inflamed, red scars for the most part. I definelty have far less active acne, but I'll still get a whitehead or a cyst around my chin area every couple of days, which probably has to do with hormones and diet (even though I'm vegan & eat pretty healthy). I'm going to experiment with eliminating things from my diet and stay on the regimen a little longer, then im going to work on getting rid of the hyperpigmented scars.

Product used: The Regimen
It's decent
So when I first used the regimen, it was amazing, worked like a charm. It got rid of my acne and the AA+ got rid of my dark spots and my skin was flawless for a couple of months. But now my face is just always really oily, my pores are huge and I have never had those problems before using the product. I do not get bad acne like I did before I started using this regimen but I do get multiple little bumps around my nose, in between my eyebrows and even on my nose and I NEVER had those problems. So I'm not sure what's going on. I did loosen up on the strict steps but I've gotten back to it for at least 2 months now and still have not seen a change. Besides that, my skin is still acne free but from those mini bumps i do have new scars and it sucks. As a side note I started using the regimen late January 2017 and it's now early November 2017.

The best..however
This is the best pure benzoyl peroxide magical treatment you will ever find. It works WAAY better than the Benzac AC 2.5% and the 5%. HOWEVER.. the downside of this cream and benzoyl peroxide as a chemical in general is that once you use it too often (like at least twice or thrice a week for a month), your skin gets immune to it. No matter how much you apply, acne would simply not go away. Once you notice it stops working, you would need to take a 3 month break and then get back to it. During that break, you need to use alternative acids and/or medications in order to treat your acne such as Tretinoin, Differin (gel only, cream is not as effective), Salicylic Acid, etc.

Awesome when used correctly!
This is a very effective product but it only worked well for me after learning how to use it correctly. Here are my recommendations: 1. I use 2-3 pumps when using the cleanser and rub my face with it for ~10 seconds. 2. After drying my face with paper towel, I use cotton pads to apply the toner. I usually use 2 pads ( one for each half of face and neck). You need to get gentle pads that don't have exfoliating beads or bumps on them. Also, be very gentle when applying this. Do not rub hard as if you are removing more dirt by doing so. 3. After toner has dried, apply about a dime sized amount of the clarifying lotion. **4. This product is very drying to the face. I only apply this product EVERY OTHER DAY. On days that I am not using this product, I use the Cetaphil cleanser and a good moisturizer. Hopes this help!

Clinique anti blemish solutions 3 step system
I am 22 and have suffered from back acne since the age of 15 and facial acne since around 20. I started using the 3 step Clinique anti blemish solution set (cleansing foam, clarifying solution and moisturiser) for nearly 2 months. I have had positive results so far - my skin is not too oily or too dry, and I have seen a reduction in the number of spots on my cheeks. I would recommend this to people with facial acne who want to keep any new breakouts under control To note I also apply Duac gel to any new spots before bed and I am also on 408mg Lymecycline and take 2 tablets a day

Works but major dryness
I have been using the regimen exactly as they prescribe, but I use a little less benzoyl peroxide about 2 peas in size,I focus on my trouble areas chin, jaw line and underneath my cheek bones. It seems to have limit my amount of acne and get rid of cystic acne as well, although I am also on 100mg of spironolactone as well. I got a few little pimples around my time of the month but nothing compared to before. But it does really dry out your face and my face was peeling. My neck was the worst it is scaly and itchy. But I just over moisturize and on the weekends only use it in the evening. Seems to be working. Fingers crossed

Love this stuff
I've been using acnecide for just under 2 weeks now and I would say that this stuff is amazing. I started to see results in just 1 week, I had been looking for an acne treatment for such a long time and this stuff is a miracle. It does make your skin dry but I just use a moisturiser after using it. I use a water based moisturiser as that's what my doctor suggested to me because an oily one would not work for my skin type.

It helped
When I used this with the Clarisonic brush (like an idiot), my face was completely clear but felt so dry, I couldn't handle it. I'd rather have acne than go back to the way my face felt when using it. When I used it without the clarisonic, it didn't completely clear my acne though. It worked fast and really well but I prefer to not use benzoyl peroxide.

confused
i started using this 3 days ago and i don't know what to think about it. it's getting the pimples that i wanted to go away, to go away but i'm also getting a few other pimples? is this supposed to happen. i'm gonna keep on using this till it's finished just to see if it actually does work. update: did not work as good as i thought it would. it made the pimples on my forehead that i wanted to go away, go away but other than that it made me break out more on other spots. Right now i am using Cetaphil facial wash and Witch Hazel and let me tell you those 2 things are tha bomb. com lol. it's a whole lot cheaper than this product tho.

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
