Pros:

Nice smell, big bottles, easy to use and it works! Love it!

Cons:

non

I have very sensitive skin, very thin and dry. I use the regiment for 5 days now and i can tell it really works!! Thats amazing how fast i got good results! I am still waiting for some burning, irritation or flakiness.... Everybody here went throught that but i am still waiting for the worst part. My skin is so calm and not too dry.... I use full two pumps of the treatment now. I guess i am just lucky and i hope it is not a bad sigh that my body reacts differently than others. I would be happy to get some comments! Maybe there is a person out there who had no bad reaction within the very first week too?....

Pros:

Clears face of acne, mostly within the 1st month.
No confusion about how to use it.
Makes you happy again! XD

Cons:

Bit pricy, and takes about 10 days to ship.
Time consuming.
Very drying.
Darkens applied area.

If you want clear skin, this is for you. But for it to work, watch all of Daniel Kerns videos and do everything he says precisely for the first couple months. You will experience very dry and flakey skin. Your acne will clear, but your skin won't be that awesome at first. After a couple of months (or when your face is clear of acne) It's alright to adjust it just a little to minimize flakiness and redness. Then your face is awesome and you may resume your life again.

Pros:

Works

Cons:

Bleaches clothes

I noticed the complaints about bleaching as well as reddening and flaking of skin. I have been able to combat both of these issues after using this product for 4 years now without a break. For the bleaching I literally only own white towels now as this has become part of my life and I needed to adjust. I also only sleep in white shirts and own only white sheets. This was no big deal once adjustments were made and now everything looks bright and clean. Clothing wise if I wear a colored shirt I tend to wear a t-shirt underneath to prevent transfer. For the reddening I invested a whole $4.00 for a bottle of aquaphor and put a tiny bit around my mouth and creases of my nose BEFORE applying BP. I have zero burning. I use CeraVe for my moisturizer which I use lightly and pat on and that seems to protect my eyes from burning. My skin is not scaly or dry even while using this product twice a day. Remember, all good products TRAVEL in your skin. Even if you are not putting something directly on your eyes or lips the product will travel or transfer from your pillow onto those areas. Protect with moisturizer.

Pros:

Affordable, fast shipping, clear instructions, large quantity for price, extremely effective after continued use.

Cons:

I don't like that the packaging says acne.org in big letters. I feel like I want to use it and then hide and stuff it back into my cabinet so no one sees it.

I have been using the regimen since april 2012 and I absolutely LOVE it. I was starting to break out a lot, with those pimples that are like bug bites... no puss just sore and inflamed. This regimen cleared that up in about 2 months. I can now go out with no makeup on and feel comfortable. Dan- Thankyou so much for creating this, I am so glad I found out about this. It is affordable and so worth the money. I bought the basic kit 2x's already and now will be purchasing the treatment again. My skin has cleared up and I rarely get breakouts. Even my scars are looking better and I get a lot of compliments on my skin. Now I use cetaphil cleanser folowed by the treatment... then a oil free moisturizer from trader joe's. I absolutely love it. And I will continue to use the treatment, I hope U never stop selling it. I highly recommend this to anyone with skin problems.. no need buy the fancy stuff, THIS WORKS!!

Pros:

Works for a little bit
Gets rid of white heads
Reduces redness

Cons:

Does not heal anything other than whiteheads or black heads
Drys out skin
Laughably small
Stops working at some point

I have acne on my chin, around my mouth, and I sometimes get little baby whiteheads on my forehead. Proactiv got rid of my acne the fist week I got it- but then things went downhill. My acne was like nothing I had ever seen before- big red painful bumps on my forehead, zips so close to my lips it hurt to smile. THEN came the painful dryness. It took almost a tube of moustrizer to fix! That was my breaking point- I had never had dry skin before, and I wasn't about to start. All in all, I was disappointed

Pros:

Gentle Exfoliant
Doesn't Smell Bad
Easy to use
IT WORKS
Skin feels smoother

Cons:

Twice a day can be a little harsh

I was on Antibiotics for about 7 years and they did nothing to help my skin. I tried every topical cream and gel for acne, and nothing worked. I was skeptical about AcneFree because it seemed like it was just like anything else, but it was about the only thing on the shelf I hadn't tried, so I bought it. I could not believe that after about 15 years of struggling with moderately severe acne with NO results, something so cheap and simple could start to smooth my skin in TWO WEEKS. I cannot express how happy I am to have actually found something that works. After 15 YEARS! If I had the money I would order truckloads of this stuff and pass it out to anybody I see and make them use it because it is truly amazing. If you are anything like me, you will read this review and be skeptical and not try it because you won't believe that anything could possibly clear up your acne, but PLEASE give it a try. Whats the worst thing that could happen, it doesn't work? No biggie, because chances are that's not the first time you've tried something that hasn't worked. But if it does work for you... you will be so thankful. For the price it is worth a try. Granted, I have been using this for about 6 months now, my face cleared up well within 2 months. My skin is not perfect, and I still have scarring, but it has helped to control my acne better than anything before. There won't be a miracle product guaranteeing you will never have a pimple again, but this is about as close as it will get.

Pros:

-smells good
-it worked, but after awhile
-the shower bar is amazing
-good price compared to other products
-I really like the proactive sunblock (moisture too)
-the daily oil control actually works

Cons:

-makes my skin flaky, but a normal moisturizer can fix this (non proactive one because it doesn't work AT ALL)
-didn't fully work until 2-3 months
-didn't work until I used another proactive product with salicylic acid (the advanced daily oil control)
-doesn't usually work with only 3 basic products
-skin gets addicted
-burns sometimes

It might not work because there is no salicylic acid in the 3 basic products...so get the daily oil control even if you don't have oily skin.

Pros:

Works Fast

Cons:

Red burning down my neck if to much applied

This stuff really works, what would you prefer loads of zits or a bit of burning. The burning soon disappears to leave non zitty skin. Ive been using this stuff on and of for about 15 years and forgot about it for some years as my skin cleared itself. But then for some reason started to have break outs again. So started to use it again. Never be without it again.

Pros:

Clears acne
Clean smell
Works fast

Cons:

Makes my face itch sometimes after use

I have been using this product for about a week now and so far it seems to be clearing my face. My face broke out bad, my chin, forehead, and cheeks. My face was looking like a pepperoni pizza it was that bad! I've always had light acne but this was so embarrassing I didn't even want to leave the house. So I got on here and read good reviews about the product. I use this product twice a day usually. In the morning and afternoon I work nights so I hardly ever wash my face at nighttime. I try to exfoliate my face every other day with aveeno smart essentials scrub. Then I use clearasil ultra rapid action treatment were my acne is mainly at. To moisturize I use eucerin daily protection Moisturizing face lotion. That seems to be working for me so far. Bottom line this product worked for me so yes I would recommend it.

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
