Pros:

Very happy with results. Acne clears up faster. Helps uneven skin tone. Works very quickly!

Cons:

May leave skin a bit dry.

I have been using acnefree sensitive skin, and it was clearing, but not as fast or effective as I would've liked it to. So, I tried the regular acnefree, and I am very happy with the results! The only thing that is a little disappointed about is that it makes my face feel a bit dry. Other than that, I am very happy with the product and I would recommend this to anyone.

Pros:

Very high quality Benzoyl peroxide, goes on light and absorbs very nicely leaving no white residue since it is a BP Gel, this it the most effective BP and I have tried them all over since my teens Im 28 now and found something that really works! and is light, does not sting, or smell bad, this has helped keep me clear

Cons:

none for me.

with our busy lives it can seem very hard to stick the regime every day in and day out, but its worth it, its all about dedication baby! I some times forget to do it myself and still have been clearer than before I started using all of Acne.org's products I am currently using the Treatment, AHA at night, and Cleanser twice a day and to shave and it has worked for me! Give it a shot! you wont regret it

Pros:

-worked FAST.
-clear gel.
-doesnt rub off.
-short drying time.

Cons:

-made face very dry for first couple weeks, stings eyes bad while it dries, pre mature aging (from what I've heard).

I love this! I finally decided after 2 and a half weeks I'd write a review. And I have to say this really worked, and fast. I always had very light acne, 1-2 zits at the most, but during the summer I started breaking out really bad (in my opinion) with almost moderate acne. Two weeks of extreme drying, I am clear, with the exception of a couple zits from the aha purging. Thank you Dan! You literally brought my self confidence back! :) keep up the good work!

Pros:

This has been the only skin care line that I have continued to use on a regular basis, it works if you follow the instructions! Also remember there are several factors to help improve acne, diet, exercise, drinking water make a big difference for me. Make sure when you use the product to use a clean cloth (super important)!

Cons:

Needs to be used on a regular basis, has improved my acne wonderfully when I use it as directed on a regular basis! May take some weeks to improve your skin, and this may not work for every single person, but find me a product that does because it doesn't exist!!! Give it a try you won't regret it!

This is the best skincare product I have ever tried for my sensitive skin, it worked ten times better for me, then the other skincare line on tv with famous actresses and actors promoting it! Also, there are two girls that I work with that I recommended it to, and it has worked on them as well!

Pros:

Great Product! Fast shipping! Wonderful costumer service.

Cons:

Zip!

Before discovering Carley's I had used ProActiv, Murad, prescriptions from my dermatologist, and more over the counter products then I can count. I had suffered from acne on and off for YEARS! I would get the hard zits under my skin which would leave scars and physically hurt. When I was 21 I finally discovered this amazing product. I do follow the directions (except after a year I stopped using the wash cloth for a few weeks and it did continue to work for me...but I would follow all directions at first) and I use this product daily and I absolutely love it. My skin looks better now than anytime I can remember. I know $21 seems like alot but It is a huge bottle and will lasts a long time! I use it in conjunction with their daytime and nighttime moisturizer for acne prone skin and my skin is never dry or flaky. They have amazing costumer service. If you have any questions just ASK...they will get back to you quickly. They ship it super fast and always send great freebie samples :). Try it! You will be glad that you did! I have been using this product now for 3 years! It has helped my skin tremendously! Just this week I was complemented on my beautiful skin. I told them about Carley's :)!

Pros:

Reduced oiliness
Some initial acne control

Cons:

Did not effectively manage acne
Extremely drying at first
Made skin extremely pale and dull
Made zits/spots take much longer to clear and heal

After using birth control for years to control my acne I decided to stop for a few months and see if my skin could handle it. About a month in the acne and oily skin I'd had before going on the pill came back, and after researching options and reading all the positive reviews I started using PanOxyl 2.5. Firstly, I should say to anyone starting out on it, be sure to only use it once a day at first or it will dry your skin out BADLY and cause flaking. I overdid it and learned this the hard way. I did find though that it immediately helped with my acne and reduced the oiliness of my skin. I kept using it over the course of a couple months (eventually back up to twice a day) but after that first week my acne was back, and though my skin and zits were drier, I still had a lot of acne. The zits also didn't really heal. The entire time I was using the PanOxyl it almost seemed like my skin was too dry of damaged to regenerate. The zits would turn into dark dry spots and never went away enough to stop covering them with make up. My overall complexion became dull and I felt that I looked much older than I did off of the PanOxyl. In the end I was really disappointed with the product, especially after reading the positive reviews, because I very much hoped that it would work great for me. I discontinued using the PanOxyl and went back onto my birth control. It was a failed experiment that left me with by far the worst period of acne I'd had in over 10 years.

Pros:

AMAZING!
I loooove the acne lotion!
The packaging is really nice.
The face wash is a weird consistency, but I really feel it cleaning my face.
Love the smell. :)
The SPF lotion is realllly great!
My skin is very soft after using this. I get compliments on my skin now.

Cons:

Sometimes hard to find, but I actually found a place with a lot of it! Go Walmart. :)
Wish there was more of the acne lotion and SPF lotion.

I seriously LOVE this product. I was breaking out a bit on my chin and somewhat my forehead. And after the first night almost everything on my chin was dried up and faded! And after the next couple days my face improved texture and clarity. <3 I will forever buy this. FOREVER. I completely recommend this! GO BUY IT!

Pros:

Inexpensive
Really Works
Smells better than Proactiv and not as drying

Cons:

Can't really think of any

If you have to use an acne facial system then this really does the trick. It is inexpensive and apart from the odd spot I enjoy a blemish free face on a daily basis. I don't find it to be over-drying either.

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
