Product used: The Regimen

Pros:

It works!
Simple three main steps!

Cons:

It takes a few weeks to truly clear everything up
* It causes dryness that I have yet to experience both times I have been on this system... I think a little less BP and using jojoba oil is the solution! :)
It is somewhat time consuming, you need to give yourself at least 15 mins AM and PM

GET IT! I got the whole kit! BP "treatment", AHA+ (THE BEST!!), jojoba oil, cleanser and moisturizer. The Cleanser, treatment and moisturizer last 2-3 months, the jojoba oil lasts forever and aha+ 3-6 months! I think its like 60$ or so every 3 months

Pros:

Makes skin smoother and softer.

Cons:

-A pain to use: Showers take a long time using the product and you have to take a shower everyday.
-Runs out quickly when using it for body acne, so you keep having to buy more.

This was so frustrating. I used the product for 3-4 months without much results. I have terrible acne on my back. At first it seemed to be helping and I decided to switch to the industrial strength, hoping it would work even better. Nope. I continued to break out. It was really disappointing because I saw all the great reviews and thought this would finally be the solution to my acne. Now, I'm just using the midnight and daily moisturizers which are very nice, but I still have acne.

Pros:

Natural, not tested on animals, inexpensive, incredible customer service. No questions asked 100% money-back guarantee. It works!

Cons:

It bleaches out coloured towels (easily solved by buying some cheap white towels and wash cloths).

I understand that any product isn't going to work for everyone. But, I am very suspicious of those people who write something like, "Carley's didn't work for me, so all the negative reviews are real and all the positive comments are fake." I'm sorry it didn't work for you, but my positive reviews are real. Carley's really works for me -- I'll use it as long as they make it. I don't care if you buy Carley's products or not, but it DOES work wonders for some of us, so don't discourage others because it didn't work for you. Do NOT use other acne products at the same time as Carley's, that can really mess you up. I had horrible acne for decades; after using Carley's, I now frequently get compliments on my skin. My daughter in law complained about a minor breakout along her jaw line. I suggested she use Carley's, telling her it was great for alleviating acne. She said, "Why do you use it, you don't have acne." Wow! I don't?? That was amazing to hear after all those decades of acne.

Product used: The Regimen

Pros:

-Shipped incredibly fast.
-This product goes a long way. There's no need to purchase every month.
-My acne is gone!

Cons:

-Some irritation/itchiness in the beginning
-Flaky skin

I have tried everything--and I mean everything, to clear my acne. Nothing over the counter or prescribed to me by my dermatologist ever worked. I came across The Regimen a day before my next dermatology appointment and decided to order it, so I canceled my appointment. I have not returned to the dermatologist since I began using this product! I have to warn you that the beginning can be very difficult. Your skin will flake (it's inevitable) and even get itchy at times. In the beginning this caused me to break out even more at times (it was so incredibly frustrating), but then I reduced the amount of BP that I used. Anyway, I decided to stick with it and 4 and a half months later I am SO happy that I did. It will take time. It's not an over night miracle. Now, I hardly ever get a pimple except once in a while around my menstrual cycle. But, before using The Regimen I can't remember a time when I didn't have at least 2-3 blemishes at the same time (and that was on a good day). If you've been dealing with acne for as long as I have or even longer, this product is definitely worth a shot.

Pros:

~ No new breakouts
~ My skin is so smooth
~ No acne on my face!
~ Amazing results
~ My confidence is sky high !
~ GO AND BUY THIS PRODUCT!

Cons:

~ Very drying at first
~ My skin got worse before it got better
~ Stings my eyes
~ Took me over a month to see results, but definitely worth it!

I have suffered from light/moderate acne since the age of 13 which meant I had acne during my whole time at secondary school. I had to constantly cake make-up on to hide the horrible blemishes! I had no confidence because my skin was so bad :( I have tried every single product on the British market and nothing seemed to work (except for Panoxyl). In the end I decided to venture over seas and find a product from the States. I have been wanting to try this product for over a year and a half after hearing such amazing reviews surrounding it! A massive issue was that it costed over £50 ($60) to get shipped to the UK direct from acne.org :( In the end I purchased the regimen from Amazon for a fraction of the cost :) In the first month of using this product my acne worsened and was very painful and itchy. My skin was flaky and dry but I persevered knowing that these symptoms were normal. This isn't a product that you apply and wake up the next day with perfect skin; it takes time for your skin to adjust to the Benzyl Peroxide and everyone's skin reacts in different ways! For me, my skin got worse before it got better. After two months of using this product my skin started clearing up and I mean it looked AMAZING! My life has been turned around!!! I feel so confident and normal now my skin is clear. I still get the odd spot around my period, but that is nothing in comparison to what I had before trying this regimen Anyone with acne BUY THIS REGIMEN! It will change your skin for the better! Thank you Dan Kern :)

Product used: The Regimen

Pros:

After a week my complexion was better and after a coupleof more weeks my complexion got even better. As long as I follow the Regimen it works wonderfully and the cost of the product is fair.

Cons:

Shipping is a little steep at $10.00 and shipping time is about 7 days. At $10.00 shipping fee, it should arrive sooner.

Love this product. I stumbed upon the acne.org site while looking for a 'cure' after trying so many different products from the drugstore and NOT wanting to spend $150 on a prescription cream. THANK YOU ACNE.ORG!!!

Nothing.

Cons:

Doesn't work. That's all. It is just a waste of money. Throwing out the whole tube..

The packaging makes this product LOOK like it would work.. It is absolutely worthless.

I have never written a review on any product, but feel led to write one on Acnefree. My son is 14 and has been struggling with acne for a year now. I took him to the dermatologist last year and she put him on antibiotics and a topical cream. He became sick within a week of starting the antibiotics and his face wasn't getting any better. We don't have rx ins. and so it cost me a ton of money for his prescriptions. Our pediatrician told me to stop the antibiotics and we did and his acne never got any better. After that we started using every over- the- counter treatment out there ( and proactive) and nothing helped. Over the summer his face was pretty severe and we decided to try a different dermatologist. She also put him on a rx of antibiotics and topical treatment. Over $900 worth of meds. Our new insurance covered it...thank goodness. Within a week he started with swollen glands in his neck just like last year and his acne on his face became more swollen, red and worse than ever. More extreme white heads too. We stopped all meds again. With only one week left before starting HS I was desparate to find something to help him. I have been on the internet for hours researching acne and treatments. I happened to see a post from someone about Acnefree and I was so skeptical, but desparate. I finally decided to try one more product. He started using it just once a day (only once a day because we were both so skepital) 4 days ago. After the first day redness was down. 2nd day a little better with less white heads. By today he is probably 75% better. For the first time ever we have found a product that is actually helping his acne and not making it worse. I am so excited and thankful!!!!!! He is actually excited about school now instead of being totally embarrassed. I am so hoping that it continues to get better. Thanks Acnefree, one side note, it only cost $20 and was at CVS. WOW!!!!!

Pros:

- Works extremely fast
- Reduced: Breakouts, Skin redness, amount of inflamed spots, whiteheads.
- REDUCED MY ACNE BY 70% WITHIN A WEEK
- Super cheap
- Didn't dry out my skin (my skin is very sensitive too)

Cons:

- Can be a tiny bit itchy/stingy
- Too much in one application = red face for a few hours, but it goes after maybe 5 hours and your normal skin colour returns.

This product in conjunction with Lymecycline antibiotics saved my skin, and it saved me from going on Roaccutane. Effects were noticed overnight for me, (moderately severe acne for 7 years). the product works extremely fast! ***TRY IT***

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
