Pros:

I've been using the product for almost a month and I'm very pleased with the results. I'm an African American woman and although the results weren't immediate, I know that patience is the key. For the past week, I have had a clear face and no pimples! I was used to seeing pimples appear everyday. The cystic acne that I used to have on my chin is non existent. I never thought I would be able to use a product with BP since I'm allergic. I was a skeptic but now a believer.

Cons:

none.

Give it a try it's worth it and htere is a money back guarantee which prompted me to buy the product. Overall it works. Just be patient and follow the directions completely.

Pros:

Non scented
Doesn't require shipping
Very gentle
Not so much benzoyl peroxide
Works

Cons:

Pricey
Takes a few minutes to apply.

My sister recommended this to me, and I wish I took her advice sooner. After using it for a few days, people were already saying my skin looked better. I used proactiv, and while I saw results, the second I missed one day by accident my skin got these little red bumps everywhere. However I accidently missed a day with clinique and I still didn't break out. Clinique does one thing even better then proactiv. All the products in the kit are non-scented. The biggest downside would have to be the price. It costs about as much as proactiv, so if you're on a budget this isn't for you. Also, it does take about five minutes to apply everything which can be annoying if you're in a hurry to get somewhere. My final complaint would be the consistency of the clearing moisturizer. I was expecting it to be a gel like the one in proactiv but it's much more runny and sometimes dripped off my finger. Overall, the results are in the eye of the beholder, and my acne has improved. If you've never used benzoyl peroxide products before, then clinique might be a good place to start since it only has one gentle product with BP. If it doesn't work for you then try proactiv.

Pros:

Works pretty well, cleared up most of acne in 3 days.

Cons:

Burns a little.

Good overall, apart from the burning (it was not that bad, though). Good for clearing up acne! Buy at a discount store, as can be expensive!

Cons:

not trustworthy

I received a flyer in the mail for a $19.95 package with two free gifts. I have yet to receive what was promised. It was a bate and switch case where they sent me a package for $45.00.

Pros:

Keeps skin clear, Prevents future breakouts, Leaves skin feeling smooth

Cons:

Have to keep using it or it stops working

This was a great product and cleared my skin up after about two days. After using it for 3 months, I had very smooth, acne free skin. Since we had to move, I stopped using it for a little while due to the fact that it was too large of a bottle to bring with us. My acne instantly came back and was worse. If you are using this product you have to keep using it or it doesn't work.

Pros:

Complete acne regimen, includes product to fade post acne marks, 2 month supply, effective combination, & a 60 day money back guarantee!

Cons:

Cream wash has the sulfur smell that isn't so great. It's only sold through Independent Consultants!

This is a great acne regimen to try that works! It's 4 products that lasts 2 months that includes a cream wash, a spot fading toner, intensive acne treatment, and an oil control lotion that also has SPF. I happen to be a Consultant and strongly believe in the effectiveness of all the products. All products have a 2 month guarantee so there really is nothing to lose!

Pros:

Cleared up my skin right away! I don't usually have acne problems, but with all the traveling I'd been doing I was having a major break out. Worked in only a few days.

Cons:

Skin was a bit dry, but it wasn't very bad at all. You have to use more of the first step than they recommend for it to work.

I used the three step system in conjunction with their oil control cleansing mask. Fantastic results! Great for people with moderate acne.

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
