Pros:

None

Cons:

Doesn't work.

I didn't see any particular difference in my skin despite regular use. Simply doesn't work. Bad product that has a good advertising campaign.

Pros:

- it get rid of pimples
- its great for skin

Cons:

- expensive but its worth it!
- small bottle
- it can make pimple worst if you have severe acne but its only for a week!

I've been using proactiv since april 2010 and i had baaaaad acne on my face like really bad so, on my sister's b-day we went shopping and i convinced my mum to buy me proativ cause i saw it a lot on tv. and i was impresed of the results. I was so happy when i got them and used them at night. But it made my pimples worst on the first week but i think my face wasn't use to those products thats why it made it even worst. And so after 3 weeks i saw some imprevement but i still had pimples. After i finished my first set, my pimples on my forehead were all gone (but i had marks), BUT MY CHEEKS HAD LOTS OF PIMPLES! i bought another set and as im getting use to the product it made all of my pimples gone and i stopped having pimples, YES! but i still have very very very very light marks on my face, they're are noticable if you stare at them carefully but doesn't matter my pimples are gone now, and im happy. I totally recommend Proativ. btw ive been using it for 10 months, i love it! :)

Pros:

works

Cons:

whitish cast if not rubbed in properly

this is the only thing that work for my mainly noninfamed acne. i actually use the target brand because it's far less expensive and it works marvelously well. the whitish cast can be treated with some basic moisturizer - my favorite is the cetaphil cream because it's one of the only ones i find noncomedogenic and does the best job in controlling flakes and making skin feel comfortable. in the end, i'm left with glowing, acne free skin!

Pros:

The product is very mild, but very effective.

Cons:

OMG....It is my duty to let everyone know what my experience was. Canceling the order was an ordeal. I canceled the order, but then was told that I was being shipped another and they could not stop this. I was o.k. with that and thought that was it. Then I was charged again, but this time it was for an order I was never charged for. I spent 45 minutes on the phone waiting for the to figure this out. Then I was told that I would not be billed.....HOWEVER...that was not all.

I was assured that I would not be billed anymore and that I did not have to cancel my debit card. On 12/23 I saw 2 pending transactions for $9.95. I had to wait until Monday to call since no one could do anything since they were pending. I then called Monday and was told that since they had not billed me for shipping and handling. Therefore, I now have another billing from this company. When I was assured the last time from a supervisor that nothing else would debit my account??? IN ALL.... if you are willing to spend time on the phone getting different excuses and have no problem with someone debiting your account as they wish then go ahead and order this product. I forgot to mention...the foam towards the end comes out as liquid!!! So you think your getting the whole 30 or 60 days and your NOT! That was disappointing as well....

Pros:

works quickly, smells good, fast delivery

Cons:

dries out skin

this product started working for me after a week. My skin is so much clearer now. I had breakouts every few days before this product and now my face is clear. The only downside to this product is that it will dry your face out. When you first start using it start only once a day and make sure you use a good moisterizer on your face.

Pros:

Inexpensive
Works
Large bottles

Cons:

Must be used a certain way to avoid dryness, etc

The first three days I used this product were HELL. I used it twice a day as instructed- my face was dry, burning, peeling, weird coloration, etc. I stopped using it for 3 days- broke out, and started using it again- once a day in the morning. Best Product, EVER! I wash my face in the shower, use the toner after wards, put the repiar lotion on areas that are little more prone, and use a tinted moisturizer all over me face (you're not suppose to expose your face to UV light or sunlight with this product) and while keeping my face a matching color to my body it also keeps it moisturized. I think it's about finding a good routine for yourself but this is what seems to be working well for me (and I've tried everything) :)

Pros:

I got a deal so it wasn't too expensive

Cons:

Didn't work
Dried out my skin pretty bad

This is no different than anything you can buy at the drugstore. Just topicals that may help slight acne but will not do anything for moderate to significant acne. You need something to get it out of your body - I've tried a few of those treatments and will post reviews for those.

Have been using this product ever since I was a neenager and ever since have always been satisfied with the results and now I always buy it for my kids during their teen stage. Have looked all over for this product for the last two weeks and could not find it anywhere, looked at Pick"n Pay, Checkers and Dischem, have you by any chance discontinued this product?

Pros:

It did reduce my blemishes

Cons:

Face never really got clear
8 weeks and counting, still no refund for my unopened, $100, 90 day kit

It doesn't work any better than other products that you can get at WalMart. So I decided instead of trying to get a refund for the product I had used, I just sent back the new products they automatically sent me which was a 90 day kit that they billed me about $100 for. I sent it back 8 weeks ago, unopened, I had chacked with customer service and I was still in th ereimbursement window. I have not gotten a rfund yet. Buyer beware, this is a subscription program and they don't send 30 day kits after your introductory kit, they send 90 day kits. It is easy to get them to cancel future shipments, but once they have one coming to your house, good luck getting your money back!!!! But, I do suggest that you try Max Clarity. That syatem has totally cleared my skin. I have had bad acne with most blemished being the ones that feel like really big hard lumps under the skin that take a couple weeks to go away. I haven't had a big blemish like that since I started using Max Clarity 2 months ago. It worked fast and has been th ebest thing I have tried including prescription treatments.

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
