Pros:

dries oily skin, clears up acne fast

Cons:

a bit dry and can burn a bit if used too much but using oil free moisturizer prevents this (which should be used anyway with any bp)

I LOVE THIS , I'm on a small budget and have just moved to the states and something here in the air or water or food, has made me breakout like crazy !!!!! It has been going on for about 4 months now and its terrible I have never had this much pimples in my life and passed the pimple period over 4 years ago ! I came across this website and saw the acne treatment and decided to give it a try, I do not have the budget to get the tiny neutrogena BP so I just got this one hoping it would do something, surly enough once I put it on my face I felt it working right away I'm only on my 3rd day and my face is freaking clear 0 pimples !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! at first when I got them every time I got a pimple i would try and pop it and it never did anything it would just bleed and stay swollen and red and will eventually leave a scar, after I got this I decided I would not pop anymore pimples that come out, I just left it huge and swollen and put this stuff on and woke up in the morning and it was gone ! I really can't belive I have smooth beautiful pimple free skin in only 3 days !

Pros:

Works pretty well for me.

Cons:

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I have ever experienced. I am supposed to receive a regular shipment of the product. On 12/15 I realized that I was overdue, so I called. They said that they should have sent a shipment on 12/1. But because they were out of the product, they just didn't send it. I had received no notification. When I asked if they could ship me an alternate product with speed, since I was out of the product, they said it would ship within 48 hours and at a standard shipping rate.

I am going to be looking for another solution.

Pros:

-clears skin
-cleanser not that soapy

Cons:

-stops clearing skin after a while
-irritates your skin (if it's sensitive)

I tried this a few months ago, It was great at the beginning, and I had clear skin for a month or so. After that my skin started to irritate during use. I tried everything including, Acnefree, Clearisil, Clean&Clear, Neutrogena, and etc. but nothing seems to work. So I don't recommend it if you have very sensitive skin.

Pros:

Low Cost, recommended by my Dermatologist, same stuff as pricey scripts.

Cons:

Hard to find however, now it is available in a tube and I was hesitate at first but really like the wash too. (and the ingredients in the wash match that of a very costly script) It isn't on the shelf in the store you have to ask the pharmacy for it at least in my location.

Try this brand before spending on more pricey prescriptions. It is the same as stuff costing way, way more money. No awful smell etc. it does bleach your wash cloth but I just have a few set aside to use with it. I wish I would have had this stuff years ago.

Pros:

works good

Cons:

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. If you ever need a refund dont expect your money back for months. I spoke to 4 different reps and got 4 different answers. There whole company is lies and excuses. Apparently it takes 3 weeks to mail a check. And you barley ever get someone you can understand.

If you can buy it at a mall or kiosk. Dont buy online it is a pain in the neck. You will never get answers to questions

Pros:

- Worked quite well
- Removed a lot of my zits
- Toner was great and felt hydrating
- Removed acne without leaving scars
- Results in 1 week
- Never dried out my skin probably because I have oily skin.

Cons:

- Didn't clear up my face
- Stopped working

I had pretty severe acne for a couple of years and finally decided to try AcneFree Severe. This kit worked quite well on my skin because it removed 75% of the acne around my face. This was the only kit I have tried that has removed my acne. It was disappointing because it stopped working after a while and I never got completely clear. I am currently using Dan's products and on his regimen.

Pros:

- makes skin smoother and pores less noticeable
- breakouts clear quickly
- prevents future breakouts
- works within a few weeks

Cons:

- super, super harsh/drying
- pretty pricey
- initial breakout

Proactiv is definitely not the miracle treatment that it's touted as by its advertisers. Having said that, it has worked pretty well for me. From the first use my skin felt a lot smoother and looked a lot brighter. In the first couple of weeks of use I had a few breakout issues which I think is caused by the exfoliation/ingredients which bring impurities to the surface. After that passed, however, it's been pretty good. The major downside with Proactive is that it is ridiculously harsh on the skin and, if you have quite sensitive skin like me, it's probably going to leave you pretty dry, especially when you first start using it. The first week I was using Proactiv, my skin felt uncomfortably tight and flaky and my eyelids became dry, red and really painful (even though I obviously wasn't applying product to my eyelids). I decided to stick with it though, got a really good moisturiser and tried to use the Step 3 Repair Lotion quite sparingly. The Proactiv oil-free moisturiser is not going to do the trick to counter the drying effect of the three step system. I'm using Dermalogica Super Rich Repair at the moment which is really great, albeit a bit pricey. High potency vitamin E cream works well also and is usually under $10 from a drug store. Basically, I would say there's a lot of things that would probably work better than Proactiv (doxycycline, for example, has been the best thing I've used) but if you invest in a really good moisturiser and aren't too liberal with the repair lotion, hopefully you'll see some good results with Proactiv.

Pros:

ONLY Sensitive Skin AcneFree Worked For Me!!!

Cons:

acne free is not the best to use!

The sensitive skin regimen made my skin almost clear but i started to use the regular acnefree after i could not find no more of the sensitive skin one. AcneFree made my skin worse than what it was. My face went from a few whiteheads to A lot of big painful black heads, and pimples, I could not use it again....

Pros:

-helps reduce excess oil on your face

Cons:

- dries out your skin
-makes breakouts worst

I started using this product because I have started to breakout a lot more. I tried everything, clean and clear, neutrogena, tea tree from bodyshop.. So I decided to try the clinique acne system. Worst decision of my life! The first few days it helped reduce the size of my pimples but then after a week my skin was 100X worst then it's ever been! I have cystic acne on my chin, near my mouth and they take forever to leave and then come back really quickly! I used to hardly breakout and now its really bad! I am going to stop using clinique and see what happens! this product has ruined my skin

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
