Pros:

Works great for sensitive skin.
I could tell a difference in a couple of hours.

Cons:

Small tube.
Burns a bit.

I had really tiny red pimples/zits mainly on my nose and forehead, but it did help a lot. I could tell by just a couple of hours that it made a huge difference. I do recommend this product very much!

Pros:

I learned my lesson to not ever buy anything from Proactiv ever again.

Cons:

I could've spent $10 at walmart and gotten better results. I tried canceling my account 3 times and they're still charging my account and sending my product that I didn't ask for. The customer service is a joke. This is the worst experience I've EVER had with ordering anything.

DON'T GET IT! You'll regret it, it won't help your acne, it'll make it worse and if you do want a refund and to cancel your account be prepared for a long rough road of arguing with customer service and the management. I requested a shipping label in June and they said it'll get here in August.

Pros:

Nothing.

Cons:

Almost everything. It is very expensive for a product that does not work well. I saw some changes in the first week using proactive but a few weeks later I began to breakout almost everyday especially on my cheeks and chin. After every wash my face felt tight and really dry which i found really irritating. Once I finished my bottles I broke out REEEEALLY badly on my cheeks -.- way worse than how my skin looked before using proactive.

I believe proactive does work on some people, but it did not for me. The best and only safe option is to see a dermatologist!

Pros:

Great consistency
No perfumes or added junk
Large quantity
Best quality BP out there!

Cons:

Dries your skin out, but that is to be expected with any BP.

Dan's BP is the greatest. I have been using it for 5ish months now. Yes, benzoyl peroxide WILL dry out your skin, but your skin adjusts over time. And for many, it causes an initial breakout, like it did for me. But the results I'm seein are worth the nasty breakouts and dry skin I endured for a while. I only use it at night, and have seen great results. I have had non-inflamed acne for 6 years, but in the past year had been having more of a problem with inflamed acne. I found it really took care of my inflamed acne quite well without ever getting to the full 2 pumps you're supposed to use, but I was still left with non-inflamed bumps everywhere. After finally ramping up to 2 pumps of BP, and adding AHA+, my non-inflamed acne is going away! This product really is amazing, and I always recommend it to others. Try it out and stick with it for a few months before you ditch it! The flaky skin and redness is normal, and unless you are allergic to BP, it will get better! :)

Pros:

Removes bumps and pimples overnight
Starts working on the first few days
Flattens pimples almost completely
No funny smell

Cons:

Dries skin
Irritation started to occur on the first few days and caused some redness
Cream was at liquid state when first bought, had to shake it

I think this is probably the first acne cream that I can see results. It truly clears my pimple over night. With most pimple creams I see they always lose effectiveness over time, hope this one doesn't because I just recently started using it. [link removed]

Pros:

Got rid of stubborn acne in tzone
Reduced redness
Great price
No more 'under-the-skin' acne bumps--skin is now smooth:)
Results fast

Cons:

Skin started getting a bit dry during 2nd month
I still have SOME acne scars

I've tried SO many drug store products and my acne just wouldn't budge. This kit has been a miracle for me. (i also use the spot treatment) I've had acne ever since my early teens-I'm almost 19 now and was tired of it. Now it's 98% gone! I FINALLY found something that works and I'm SO happy!

Pros:

-Lots of product
-Reduces breakouts
-Absorbs great
-Smooth skin
-Cheap & effective!

Cons:

-Very Drying
-Leaves redness
-Time consuming
-Weird Scent

I've been using this product for around a month. I use the Cetaphil cleanser, the BP, and Simple's hydrating moisturizer. It is extremely drying during the first few weeks! But it will go away. After a month in, my skin has somewhat improved. The results so far are not drastic. I still have red bumps everywhere and I still have to coverup with concealer. But there has is definitely some improvement so it is effective! Just don't expect fast results right away. I'm hoping after 6 months it will completely clear up my skin. So far so good though. :)

Pros:

Starts working immediately!

Cons:

Step 3 actually damages pillowcases and/or anything else that you may put your face on after applying, so be aware of this.

I love it and would recommend this product to anyone with acne because it actually works! My search is OVER:D

Product used: The Regimen

Pros:

Clears up blackheads, Smooths out skin, lots of product for price, can buy pieces a la cart if desired, do not have to sign up for monthly shipping

Cons:

Time Consuming, Wish it was stronger, wish there was a stronger spot treatment.

It works, and fits with what I have come to learn through Dermatologist visits since I was 12 and life experience. My dermatologist was an idiot, by idiot... I mean he put me on accutane for moderate acne that was made worse by his suggestion that I scrub the crap out of my face, aggrivate it, then come back and see him to "take care of it". SCAM! I learned that being gentle on your skin is the way to go. An interesting byproduct of my OLD derm's methods is that the 2.5% BP seems so mild! However, it has cleared up everything but my stubborn acne around my jawline in only about a week! That is freaking impressive. I will say that I thought the moisturizer really does need the Jojoba oil. The skin on my neck is more sensative, so it did get dried a bit from me accidentally getting BP on it. However the Jojoba completely fixed the dryness, and made my skin feel like it has just had a tall drink of water! Me gusta. The only thing I think this regime lacks is a stronger spot treatment. For that I got a 10% BP from Clean and Clear, and use it on the problem areas before I apply the Acne.org treatment everywhere else. The few downsides of this regime are: that it takes SO long for the BP to dry, and that they don't offer an sunscreen to use. It would be great if they could add SPF to the moisturizer, since then I wouldn't have to wait for 4 layers to dry...lol. All in all, solid product, better for your skin then proactive, and feels like good value for your money since you can literally feel and SEE that the products do what they are supposed to. For anyone concerned about bleaching your sheets and towels...simple, use white towels and sheets. Its the same deal whether you get your products from the Dermatologist, Proactive, the drugstore, or Acne.org. clear skin is worth it.

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
