Pros:

inexpensive, easy to get

Cons:

used the cleanser, does not work

I've used Proactiv for a while now. I couldn't afford it so I decided to try Acnefree. I was only using the cleanser with Proactiv and it worked fine. So I decided to only use the cleanser from Acnefree. I did not get the same results that I got from Proactiv. My face is worse than it has been in a long time.

Pros:

-Easy to apply
-Very affordable
-Simple directions
-Awesome customer service
-Supply last a very long time

Cons:

-Simply a 30-60 seconds wash is all it is
-Shipping is expensive - but fast

I have tried Proactiv, all the treatments found at Walgreens, even the cons like ProNexin and AcneTix... This product seemed to have the most hype but it broke me out little by little. I thought it was just my skin adjusting to the medicine - but i never stopped breaking out. I broke out in places I usually do not. My breakouts become very big and painful leaving many scars. I discontinued the product because I didn't think it was going to work. I used it for a little over a month with no results. I emailed the company asking if they had any tips... They suggested I stay with the treatment because with time it works. I just think a simple facewash, with the same ingredients most BP face washes have, wasn't going to do the trick... I switched to the regimen 2 weeks ago with good results.

Pros:

The customer service seems good. Free samples.

Cons:

Ruined my skin.

I was very excited to try this product after reading such positive reviews. In the first week I noticed my skin was a lot less red, but nothing was happening to my pimples. Then I started breaking out terribly, I was getting huge, cystic pimples on my chin, and smaller pimples in places I never normally got them. I continued to use it hoping this was just my skin 'purging' - boy was I wrong. I woke up one morning with my skin in agony, all of my breakouts suddenly had a really bad reaction to Carley's and became painful, red, raw, pus-oozing mounds of crust. I couldn't continue using it, I couldn't even leave the house.. and now I'm still trying to recover from the hideous red marks (one is over an inch long) and the remnant breakouts it left on my chin. It could work for some people, as demonstrated in the other reviews, but it certainly didn't work for me. I normally never have bad reactions to BP so I don't know what it was. My skin was so much better before I used it. If you're thinking of using this, be more cautious in your expectations, it's not a miracle product for everyone.

Pros:

Helped control acne and oil initially. Used at bedtime after washing face with Oxy Wash. Needed a good anti-sebum moisturiser during the day. Worked a miracle with Erythromycin

Cons:

After prolonged use, effect wears off unless other treatments are added

Helped me banish my acne!

Pros:

Makes skin SO soft, and I actually feel GOOD about what I am doing to my skin. Clears up fast, and if you do get a small pimple (trust me it wil be small) it goes away so fast. Soothes the skin, and heals it, helps it get better

Cons:

NONE! This product is so nice!

Ok WOW! I have used this product for just over 1 week, and my skin has COMPLETELY recovered from the severe drying effects Dan's regiment had on my skin. My skin was cracking from the dryness, and this healed it, along with my acne. I have MANY fewer bumps, and the ones I do have are healing with no new ones showing up. I feel good about putting this on my skin, it is addicting! Please, if you are tired of trying all these drying, harsh, leave on your skin products, look into Carley's! (the price I paid was dor the treatment and the day moisturizer, I use adult treatment, and they sent TONS of samples)

Pros:

I first purchased Carley's approx 2 years ago. I am over 50 years old but have been subject to annoying acne around my nose and chin. Drives me crazy, as I am a professional person, this just killed my confidence! After using more store bought s and mail order products, I gave Carelys a try. When I first starting using it it was slow to react, but a couple days later I noticed that it was clearing. I have used ever since

Cons:

If I stop using it for a few weeks I notice it comes back, I just keep using it!

This is the best product I have used. If you continue using it, you wont have a problem!!!!

Pros:

-Works sometimes
-Can put all around face, not just spot treatment.

Cons:

-Sometimes leaves face red, and if its a cystic pimple dosent make it go away only makes its head.

I used this after i ran out of duac, not to bad. Trying to get off of BP though so this being 10% didnt really help

Pros:

was nice and light - not too heavy on my face
felt clean
kept my face from getting oily through the day

Cons:

nothing yet....
except that i have heard that they send you more than you need, and send it more often than you need...

First of all... if any of you go to your doctor they will tell you that it WILL in fact make your acne worse before it gets better. ANY!!! product, even perscription products will do so! Do not base your decision on these reviews. i've only been using it for a few weeks, havent noticed too much of a difference but i have noticed my complexion looking a little more even.

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
