dried my skin out
This product dried out my face and my skin started peeling around my mouth and nose. I eased onto using all the cleansers and it still irritated my face and all together made my breakouts worse

Did somebody get any money back?
This product It's not working for many people. I wanna know what to do if it doesn't work on me either. They guaranty to refund your money but I haven't read any comment about it. I'm already disappointed because I paid for overnight shipment six days ago and I haven't gotten the product yet. When I called to see what's going on, proactive people were very rude and didn't help.

Disappointing second go around
Hello! Writing this review to hopefully help someone in a similar situation. I purchased the 3 step kit at age 23 after remembering that I used it for 4-5 years in my teenage years and loved the results back then. Unfortunately, I believe that I am the case where it will not necessarily work the second time around (skin changes as you get older). I started using it and although it felt great, cleaned my skin, and even smelled great, I began getting the worst cystic acne I have ever had in my entire life. The reason why I went and purchased this kit in the first place was because I was having a lot more break outs than usual, but no cystic acne. When I used this, it got BAD, and is still bad a month later. I have stopped using it and am looking into other products that will hopefully work for my skin. Not only did I waste $75, but in my case- it made my skin much worse. Not to mention they won't stop calling and emailing me, even though I was very purposeful to not leave that information with the salesperson at the kiosk I purchased it from. I feel like this product CAN be good for some people, but it does not work for every type of acne like they make you think from the commercials.

Did not work
I have moderate/severe cystic acne that came back after a round of Accutane. I tried this with high hopes! I stayed on it for a month and it made my skin raw, red, and I had huge cysts on the side of my face and chin throughout. Did not work and I believe made it worse.

ehh
As a freshman in highschool, I had minimal breakouts. I used proactiv day and night and my skin never looked better. It made my skin brighter, more even, and clear. After a week and a half of treatment, it literally burned off my skin. I stopped the use of proactiv, suffering from peeling dry skin for nearly 6 months, all over my face. SO unappealing, SO itchy. After i stopped using this product, my skin also became oilier. do not reccomend twice a day use. do not use if you have even slightly sensitive skin. not a fan

Not worth the price
I asked for this for Christmas since I could not originally afford the $70+ system. It did clear up some of my acne, but I have used drugstore one-product brands that worked better. For the price paid, I would not buy again. Also, it is very drying in the winter time so I had to buy a better working moisturizer than what came with the system.

Product used: The Regimen
so far.... so good! 1month + 1 week in.
I NEVER make reviews on anything! Let alone, on the internet. But I have to say... acne.org regimen truly does work! I am not where I want to be, but I do see results. Most if not all of my cystic acne have diminished and the red/dark scarring are slowly but surely fading. My acne was so bad that I couldn't walk around my own home around my own family, without feeling insecure. It was THAT bad. Even at work, Being around women with beautiful skin, they would comment on my acne, giving me advices and such. It was absolutely embarrassing! I'm not at that point yet where I can leave my house bare-faced. But when I do wear make-up to cover up the scaring and even out my skin tone, no bumps and lumps peak through anymore. I now get compliments from the same women giving me advices and telling me my skin looks so much more refreshed and flawless. Best part? ... I've only been using the regimen for a little over a month!! And just a few days ago I placed my second order! I am certain by the time Spring/Summer rolls around (I am in Canada) I will be able to enjoy the sun on my face and not have to worry about my makeup melting off ;)

Extremely poor customer service and a mediocre product
This system had no effect on my acne, and I would never recommend it to anyone. Not only that, but when I attempted to cancel two customer service representatives hung up on me before learning why I called. When I was able to reach a third representative and cancel I was actually told "Well, that's your loss."

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
