Pros:

-Smells good
-Exfoliating beads feel nice
-Systematic approach

Cons:

-Did not clear my acne

I think this product would work great for someone with an occasional break out. I would not recommend this if you have moderate to severe acne. It made my skin very soft and it did soothe it, but I continued to get breakouts. .

Pros:

- Helps clear up acne on the back with a loofah
- Prevent new ones from forming (pimples, big cysts, etc.)
- Cheap and can be found anywhere
- Lasts me a month (for the back)

Cons:

- Doesnt remove all oils and dirt from skin without a exfloliator or loofah!!!
- Can be somewhat drying
- Intial Breakout for the first week
- Toxic smell

It helped keep my back clear along with Apple Cider Vinegar. I use it in the shower everyday. But i never used it on my face, I'm scared it may hurt and dry out my face.

Pros:

Didn't dry face out
Didnt Make it red
Not Irritatiing

Cons:

Didnt help at all.
Made face super oily

Basiclly where i mostly get acne is arond my mouth and by my cheek bones. And like 1 or 2 on my forehead. Personally i have super duper duper sensative skin. With proactiv i washed my face 2 times a day. morning and night. It didnt so ANYTHINGGGGGGGG for my chin and cheek bones.Just forehead. Its summer now and i really wanted my acne to go away before summer ended and i dont think its going anywhere. Take this into consideration. DONTTTT USE..... all proactiv is, is benzoyl peroxide. What it does that it doesnt get down into the pores and actually get out dirt, oil, etc. It just take bacteria off exsiting acne.Puhhlease do notbuy this. I think yob be better off using Skin Id or sumthing

Pros:

Works for me.
Has a pump.
White to clear color.
Smell isn't too bad.

Cons:

None that I've seen so far.

I tried using the recommended 3 pumps at first, but it was just too much product on my face. It didn't really irritate my skin either, which is good. To measure out the BP, I put it on the middle joint of my middle finger all the way to the tip. That's how much I use. This is probably why I never encountered any dryness, flaking, or irritation. But it's enough to work, because my skin is clearing up. And I have tried so many different products over the past 6 months.

Pros:

Clears up skin pretty quickly and is super effective. Doesn't get rid of blackheads but I realized that no scrub, wash, cleanser, cream, etc can get rid of a BLACKHEAD. They have to be physically removed with a strip or something.

Cons:

Extremely drying. I would use a substantial amount at night and a very, very thin layer during the day. It makes your face seem powdery white too.

Very effective at erasing red bumps and pimples.

Pros:

Bottle comes with a pump!
8 ounce bottle lasts a long time.
Blends easily into the skin.
Fast shipping, at least in CA.

Cons:

Slight "hospital" scent might bother some (but I like it!).
It can bleach certain fabrics.

I have had acne for years, and I'm glad to finally see a large-sized product with a pump. This is so much easier than using little tubes of acne medicine! I can just pump this out and rub it into large areas like my back. It spreads and blends easily into the skin without leaving a visible residue behind. The texture is great and I actually like the "hospital" scent. For some of you, this might seem more expensive than a drugstore acne cream, but you get so much more per bottle! It would take 9 Neutrogena On-the_Spot tubes to equal one of these, so it's worth it. It's not a miracle cream, but it will help keep skin bacteria under control. Before, I wasn't able to really use acne medication on my back bc the tubes are usually too small. This larger product makes it possible to treat body acne easily. I don't have any irritation, and it helps control the congested pores around my neck and chest area.

Pros:

Great spot treatment
Goes on clear
Clears acne
Reduces redness
Fragrance free

Cons:

Dry,flaky skin
Cracked skin
Burning during the first few days

This is an amazing benzoyl peroxide. I still use it as a spot treatment and it works brilliantly. However I do not recommend it as all over use for "the regimen". It completely destroyed my natural skin texture. I have been off of it for a month and my skin is still peeling and dry. I have to use a lot of moisturizer. I went into this having oily/ normal skin..I now have very dry skin. If you're going to use all over, proceed with caution!

I noticed an improvement in my skin within a week. I love Clinique. My skin looks and feels amazing. This is the first product I've tried that didn't require a perscription. I would recommend this to anyone. You really don't have anything to lose. You can return the product for a full refund if purchased from a department store. Although you won't need to. Clinique has a lot of amazing products!

Pros:

This product goes on light and smooth, does not irritate whatsoever. It clears any current outbreaks overnight and prevents new ones. Using it everyday will help you maintain clear, healthy skin.

Cons:

Might take a few days for your skin to get used to it. AVOID EYE AREA!! If your regimen also includes an eye cream...I would use the eye cream first, let it completely absorb/dry before you use the treatment. Also, make sure to let the treatment completely absorb/dry before applying moisure lotion (as the directions state) to further ensure you will not irritate delicate eye skin..

I never had a problem with acne during my teens and early twenties. In my late twenties I got "adult acne" and as a woman a common problem...rosacea in the balls of my cheeks, and little pimples under the skin that never formed a head, and were continually there!! I tried some products from the drug store...they were very harsh for my skin. I also tried proactiv and it bleached all my towels!! Anyway, the acne.org treatment is THE BEST..it goes on light and smooth, does not irritate, and is a reasonable part of a daily routine. I appreciate the discreet packaging in shipment and the bottle itself. I literally cannot imagine life without this product...Im 31 now , so [link removed] you better provide this for another...I dont know...50 years!! xoxox I would not be without it!!!

Pros:

I noticed some improvements.
They have good customer service

Cons:

It didn't not get rid of my acne!
My face started to ich like crazy in the beginning, it went away and then it came back after a month.
The bottles are tiny!
When you sign up, they automatically put you on a schedule and they will continue to send you their products. So that doesn't work if you don't like it.

I am 20 years old. I never really had acne until I graduated high school. And then it was just really bad and now I am always breaking out. I have never had clear skin since. I was really disappointed with proactiv. I had heard stories of people that my friends knew, and it worked for them. They had REALLY bad acne too! And my acne is only on my cheeks so I thought it would definitely work on me. The directions are weird so I wasn't always sure if I was using the right amount. I think I was trying to convince myself that it was working, but it just didn't get rid of my acne. I think it might have started to a few times, but then it would just get worse again. It made me really frustrated. So now I'm breaking out even more and it is embarrassing.

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
