Cleared up my skin and got rid of the redness. Almost all of my acne is gone after about 5-6 weeks of usage. Great for my skin.

Tends to cause some dryness.

Pros:

Helps clear acne

Cons:

bleachs, must use very strictly, takes a very long time to soak in(about 45 mins for me)

If you work hard and use this strictly w/ the DKR it should work great

Pros:

I get bad acne on my whole body with annoying combination skin and the Industrial Strength Kickass Teen Treatment gets rid of everything. It is really affordable so I can give every part of my body w/ acne the attention it needs with one product.

Cons:

I use the Industrial strength because my acne is really bad but it might be a bit harsh for someone with moderate acne so start out with the regular and then graduate to this one if there are leftover zits. Give it a month to work.

Follow the directions and do extra scrubbing for more stubborn acne and this stuff will work incredibly well. Give it a few weeks to work and be patient. You may start breaking out more at first or it looks like it isn't doing anything, but that just means impurities need to leave your skin and after that is done you get cleared up. More stubborn acne might require you to scrub for about a minute or to use a dry wash cloth, leave it on a little longer, or other variations-play with it a little and it will take the acne off. I have been using this product for 2 years. There were times when I went away for a few days and forgot to bring it, tried another acne product in its place. This never lasted more than a week because my skin goes back to the way it was and I have decided to use Clear and Smooth for the next 20 years because genetically I will probably need to and nothing has ever worked even 1/2 as well as this product. I order a year supply every year. Enough said.

Pros:

Jessica Simpson is a spoke model for them!

Cons:

Dried my skin out like crazy. Helped my acne for a week but then it got worse.

Not as good asother products in my opinion.

Pros:

-Gets rid of the acne
-Doesnt bother my skin

Cons:

-Advised not to be exposed to the sun very long with it

I am 20 now and have been using this stuff for about a year now (i would have mild-moderate acne w/o it), and its still working for me. Im not sure how much longer i will have acne and have to use this stuff (i hope to hell i dont get adult acne) but I will stick with this product until it stops coming. I use this product daily and have had it lose some effectiveness after long periods of time so keep a backup product (i have another C&C prouduct that uses that acid that starts with an 's' when it i see some stuff propping up for a day or two. This product has kept me clear and all the signs of my old acne have almost all gone away. wish i found this stuff sooner- it has raised my self esteem and given me my confidence back!

Pros:

I like the Day cream it visibly shrinks acne.

Cons:

Cleanser leaks when left opened on counter. Works for awile then stops.

Lets get this straight, works for awhile then you get immune to it.

Pros:

none

Cons:

too expensive and doesnt work

My daughter is a pre teen and started having mild breakouts. She has been using pro active for about 9 months now and her forehead is broke out more now than before. She uses it every morning and every night. I was told it needed time so we decided to give it this long to see if maybe it would start working. It isnt we are switching to something else.

Pros:

I have used Proactiv for almost 5 years now and my face is clear and I get complements(I do get the odd pimple). I tried going off it twice because I thought my skin was naturally clear - but had to go back as I realized that it's really the Proactiv

Cons:

I have noticed that it can be drying but I think that is due to the dry climate, and over scrubbing and over-use of refining lotion. Also many of the odd pimples I do get tend to be bumps under the surface that seem to linger for weeks.

Proactiv is a good product and allows me to be stress-free about my skin. I recently went off it for the second time and realized how bad my skin is naturally, and that I am constantly worried about it and feel self-conscious. I recommend this product to anyone that continually has a pimple (or more) on thier face, and is tired of experimenting with the "cheaper" drugstore brands - it is not worth it! Just make sure to read the pamphlet as I failed to do so, and ended up scrubbing with the cleanser, using too much of all the product, and over-using the refining lotion (which dried out my skin - actually causing more bellow - surface bumps). I plan on sticking with this product because I know it works and experiementing to save a few dollars is just not worth the frustration and loss of confidence. I also tried to find a more natural product and realized that Proactiv actually combines the harsh acne-fighting ingredients with natural, gentle ones in order to balance and benefit the skin

Pros:

it seems to have cleared up my skin, and is an easy regimen to follow- I love the convenient packaging!

Cons:

It's made my face really shiny. The morning after using the night cream when I washed my face it felt like I had a layer of slime all over it.

It cleared up my acne but in exchange made my face look like I smeared it with vaseline- gross. It also is disgusting when washing you face in the morning because of the layer of gook the night cream has doesn't seems to absorb. Overall I did not like this product and I regret buying it. Even though the packaging is nice, and I like the idea of having two different acne solutions for day and night.
May 14, 2007

Pros:

its works fine for me has made 50% of my acne go away and still working

Cons:

the night cream does dry my skin out but i use the lotion in the morning it all works out

by this product it will do wonders for anyone dealing whith acne people go throuh acne i have it i feel bad sometimes but god knows what he is doing

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
