Pros:

Made me think it was going to get better

Cons:

Doesn't clear it up.
Sometimes made me break out more

It doesn't work in the long run. It may work at first. But then you will break out more. The refining mask made me break out even more! And it gave me body acne too. It's a f**king joke. And notice in the commercials how the "real people" say how it works. And notice how they look TOTALLY different? Like in the before thing, the girl had short hair, then in the after one, she had long hair, with braces. So, you do the math.

Pros:

Really does work for most pimples, can get your money back if it doesn't work for you.

Cons:

Can be drying if you aren't careful.

I tried this VERY reluctantly after a friend recommended it. I am very pleased with the results, although it's not a miracle cure (but then again, what is?) It is a little slower for pimples under the skin, but for those that are already "erupted", it will get them gone amazingly quickly. It also does a decent job of controlling oil. Probably the best product I've ever used and I've used a lot. For those worried about the price, keep in mind you do not need to use tons of it. Just put a light even layer over your face and don't spot treat too much or you will get all dried out. These bottles last forever. Also, most Clinique counters will give you your money back if you try it for a month and aren't happy, which is a definite plus!

Cons:

BURNED SKIN

THIS PRODUCT WAS USED ON MY 12 YR OLD DAUGHTER. AFTER 2 DAYS OF USE SHE WAS EXTREMELY BURNED AND ITCHY. HATED IT. DISCONTINUED USE IMMEDIATELY. DO NOT RECOMMEND FOR SENSITIVE SKIN

Pros:

A PROACTIVE USER THAT ALWAYS COMES BACK

Cons:

My skin is never a 100% clear

Proactive is the best skin care line for me, compared to anything else I have tried. Whenever I stray I always come back. I stopped using Arbonne Clear Advantage cuz it sucked and immediatly when I used Proactive my skin improved in skin tone eveness, and clarity. I alsos love the fact that it exfoliates my skin which is something that everyone needs to keep that top layer of skin looking new. I love it!

Pros:

Almost completely clears up skin most of the time. I did get some people complimenting on my skin looking great but it never lasted I would eventually have another bad breakout.

Cons:

Never completely cleared up my skin. Caused skin to become dry in some areas. Still have tons of blackheads.

Possibly will work better for men but didn't work during my menstrual cycle. :(

Pros:

Existing pimples vanished within 2 after first application. Within a week, no signs of new blemishes or newly forming pimples.

Cons:

Noticed the slightest increase of blackheads in areas that were not prone to them, ie: cheeks & around my facial hair area. Does dry out skin if overused.

After establishing my own NATURAL (honey, sugar, hydrogen peroxide) regime, I decided to add BP to the mix to see if I could enhance my results. I couldn't be happier. My skin hasn't been this clear in a long time. Plus, its really helping with the post acne marks that I dread. *TIPS for the side effects of BP* I only use BP at night. By cutting the dosage in half and finishing off with a little moisturizer, I found that I prevent the dryness its known for creating. Plus, since I'm wearing my pjs, I don't have to worry about bleaching my good clothes. And another tip for bleaching prevention is changing your bath towels and pillow cases to white.

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
