Pros:

i honestly did not find a pro from proactiv. for awhile it kind of helped with prevention, but nothing else

Cons:

i already have extremely sensitive skin, and it just irritated my skin. it made it redder, and it looks irritated. i need to find something that helps prevent and cure, and relieves redness

i wouldn't recommend proactiv. Especially to those who have sensitive skin. It mainly irritates skin, and doesn't help with acne treatment

Pros:

easy to use, can have it come once a month or buy it in the stors. can be used with other topical medications. has a mask which works great as an overnight spot treatment. not to harsh on skin

Cons:

can bleach clothes, skin and hair. nearly all acne solutions can, including the regim. its the benzol peroxide it bleach a few hairs right at my hair line looked kinda funny but is easly avoidable. it doesnt necesarly bleach skin it just lightens.

For simplicity and one kit does it for you it is excellent. The benzol peroxide is kinda a pain at the begining but once you get use to using it you will no longer get it on clothes towels and in your hair lol. For first time users it generaly dries out the skin fairly fast but your skin will toughen up after about a week to a week and a half. The mask is a mirracle worker for big pimples. Also one thing that i have noticed which applies for most face products is after you wash your face do not wait that long before you apply the repairing lotion or BP. When you wait your skin dries out and your body will naturally produce more oil on your face to make sure it doesnt dry out more. this is what you do not want to happen so dont wait to long. i think that it is a great product to use for facial acne or just keeping your face clear.

Pros:

You only need a small amount so lasts for ages
Worked immediately

Cons:

Packaging
They send it out to you automatically every few months whether you have run out or not.

BUY IT!!!!!!! Seriously. Even if its only once. £50 might seem a lot but thats only because your paying it all in one go, in the first shipment you receive cleanser, toner, 2 moisturisers, 2 minature moisturisers and a face mask... in the shops you would spend more than that on high street products! For those who say it dries out their skin then they are using too much. I use about a 5p size of the cleanser and moisturiser because thats all you need. As a sufferer of severe acne, with red raw cyst like skin, very noticable and very painful, i tried everything, named brands, prescription creams, anitbiotics and even changed my pill to one especially for acne. Then I tried proactiv. In the space of one month I can honestly say I no lnger have acne. I dont have a single spot. My skin is no longer bumpy and hideous, it is completely smooth and people have even complimented me on my clear skin (I do have scars but they are fading too) PLEASE TRY PROACTIV!!!!!

Pros:

Everything about the regimen is great except for the new packaging. Having had acnes for years, I have been using the regimen for the past 4.5 years and my skin has been clear. I am extremely grateful to Dan for the work he has done.

Cons:

I find the new 8oz and 16oz packaging incredibly fiddly to use and extremely user unfriendly. I have now given up and just transfer all the contents to a lidded container which I can access easily.

While I applaud the decision to introduce larger, more economical sizes, how a container design like this one could have been chosen defeats me. Also why not retain the old 4oz tube and provide some continuing choice about preferred container? There is a saving of precisely 48 cents between 2x4oz tubes and 1 8oz container - hardly a huge amount which indicates that the 40z tube remains economical.

Pros:

IT WORKS! IT SERIOUSLY WORKS! I didn't think I would ever find a product that kept my skin clear and smooth because everything else failed.

Cons:

None! There is nothing to be dissapointed about with these products. You WILL get results!

The acne products are absolutely AMAZING! Since Jr. High acne breakouts have always haunted me. And like everyone else who deals with acne, I tried everything. Even trips to the dermatologist. Everything claimed to work but nothing did. As life continued high school came and went and STILL my skin would go through ugly breakouts. Finally last year I tried this stuff my mom bought off ebay. Carly's Clear and Smooth skin treatment! I am AMAZED at this simple treatment. I don't have pimples anymore. Not even one!! I remember in high school being able to count the dots on my face. I remember the number being in the double digits. I remember being sad and feeling ugly. Now that I have "clear and smooth" skin I don't ever feel ugly. I wish I never had to wait until I was 21 years old to have clear skin. Thank you to the millionth power! Please don't stop making these products! It's hard to believe I actually found something that really REALLY works.

Pros:

Makes skin smoother when its moisturised

Cons:

GAVE ME WAY MORE PIMPLES THEN BEFORE!!!!!
Dries skin out
Burning sensation

Inefective for Me. Way to expensive, at that cost it should work amazingly and quickly.

Pros:

this stuff really worked for my acne

Cons:

sometimes can add to dryness of skin

I used to have horrible acne about 8 huge zits on each cheek and w/e. within a week or two my skin was pretty much clear now there is such a big difference even a people mentioned to me how much better my skin is, by the way the other products in the Zapzyt line are also amazing. for some reason Zapzyt just does things the right way. I definitely recommend a try to this and the other Zapzyt products.
April 13, 2008

Pros:

easy to use, smoot, acne free skin after a couple of weeks, controls breakouts, not as drying as other products

Cons:

a bit pricy, toner runs out faster than the other two steps

i have tried everything'clearasil, neutrogena, proactive, acne free, presciption meds.' and this is the first product that kept my skin acne-free throughout treatment. since acne breakout are hormonal, there is only so much topical acne treatments can do, but clinique manages to minimize the breakouts if/when they do occur. my skin felt SO smooth the entire time. also, i wasn't as sensitive to sunlight like on other acne treatments. when used CORRECTLY, it is great!

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
