Pros:

I honestly can't think of any really good things it does for your skin, at least for me.

Cons:

Dries out skin, my face looked like a cracked desert even after using moisturizer. It made my chin rough, and caused some redness and itch in some areas of my face. After using it, it seemed to dry my face out like crazy, then it would be shiny.

This product is NOT for people with sensitive skin such as myself. And I can slightly tan, so anyone who burns easily don't use this. Don't waste your time and money. If it worked amazingly well I wouldn't mind the 45 dollar price (I just got the standard 3 step kit) but the truth is, it made my skin worse, and I used it for 4 whole months. I really wanted it to work but it just didn't work out for me. If you tan easy or have tougher skin this product could be for you. Another thing is, it takes a really long time to use all of it, if your a busy person, this won't work for you. You have to cleanse your face, wash off, put on the toner, leave on and let it dry, then repairing lotion, leave on and let dry, and unless you want really flaky dry skin, you have to use a non comedogenic (which means it won't clog pores) lotion or moisturizer. I'm switching over to Neutrogena and we'll see what happens, I hope this works because Proactiv has really let me down. Ms Simpson uses this? Doubt it.

Pros:

My skin looked softer for the first few days.....

Cons:

My skin is very sensitive to the cold, the harsh chemicals seem to make my pimples bigger! They are getting red and getting more!!

It is making my skin very dry and itchy. I would not recomend this if you have very sensitive skin!! My acne seems to be getting worse the more I use it.

Pros:

Softer skin, ALOT LESS BLACKHEADS!!, Fewer Pimples

Cons:

Dry skin which does seem to go away after a few weeks of use, Proactiv also has horrible customer service it took me 3 months to get it and that was the second order..i never recieved my first order and they wouldn't credit me back for it.

Proactiv works pretty good. I have hardly any blackheads and my skin just seems healthier. It takes a little while to start working (about a month) I can definately wear less make-up on my skin now. Although the shipping takes forever and when you contact customer service it's just automated and they don't help you at all!!

Pros:

It work alright, Not the best, i find Polo Sport Face Scrub works much better, And it's just a face wash! I ran out of Polosport so now im trying ClearZit..

Cons:

It Really does not work very well for me, and it's way to expensive,I would never pay that much just to modify the way i look personally, got it for free from a friend.

My Skin is NOT sensitive at all, I can put just about anything on it and nothing seems to bother me. Honestly, i find Polo Sport Face Scrub, Works really well.

Pros:

Has started to really help with acne after a few days.

Cons:

Drying.

I've tried a lot of things lately. I used to use pro-active and then it stopped working. I thought I had become resistant to Benzoyl peroxide or something so I tried a lot of other treatments. I think all I needed to do was up the percentage of benzoyl peroxide. This is great.

Pros:

it does relieve acne in just 2-3 days.. it's so effective for teens like me..

Cons:

-It makes your skin sooooo flaky(But, its good for you if you have a very good moisturizer to civer it up)..

The flaking effect takes a few days( several fo some cases) But, no need to worry cause it reduces skin's oiliness and it's KILLING acne in a good way =P

Pros:

Noticed a difference the first day. Cleared up most of my pimple quickly. My skin is sily smooth and soft.

Cons:

Dries up skin a considerable amount.

The first time I used this product it was night. I woke up with clearer skin, but my face was still a little red. After a few days it didn't burn my skin. After about 3 weeks my skin wasn't dry anymore. I only use the wash and lotion and only at night but it works wonders. It's been about a month and my skin is amazing. When using it I recomend using polysporn (yes, you heard me right) to moisturizes the dry spots. In the mornings use a light exfoliant and good moisturizer such as oil of olay. The real bottom line, it's worth a shot.

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
