Pros:

Saw results in a week. It works.

Cons:

Nothing is wrong with the products themselves, but they are a bit pricey. OH, and they make your skin sensitive to the sun, so make sure you get a good sunscreen lotion or something.

Try it. This seems to be one of those products that can work wonders for one person but have no effect on another person.... so you never know.

Pros:

-clears up existing acne well
-skin feels smooth
-easy to use

Cons:

-doesn't prevent breakouts well
-exspensive
-once you start you CAN'T stop, or you'll break out worse than before

I have really oily skin so this works well for me, but I have friends with normal skin who use it and it dries out their skin and causes peeling. Best for bad acne, not great for occasional breakouts. The most effective product at clearing acne I've ever used. But you have to use it forever once you start, can't skip even 1 day.

Pros:

Works well!I have used this for several years and it the only thing that keeps my skin clear. I have tried other treatments and they work at first but with in a few weeks I break out all over again. The price is excellent!

Cons:

The toner runs out before the other products. When you first use it your skin gets irritated. I recommend to use it once a day until your skin gets used to KA.

It works well and is affortable.

Pros:

It is definately working - it has been 3 weeks now and all the pustular acne has gone. It is gradually clearing :)

Cons:

If you touch your skin it peels but that's probably a good thing as it encourages me not to touch!
If you use too much too soon like I did- severe chemical burn (like a bad sunburn) and hideous peeling

Overall I recommend this product as long as you start with a little then gradually use more

Pros:

Healed the bumps on my face, cleared my forehead

Cons:

Left the red marks, and left white patches and discoloration on my skin! Also dried my skin and made it even more sensetive

If you have tough skin, it will probably work for you, but if you have sensetive skin, this product is much to harsh.

Pros:

This product gets shipped right to you, you don't have to go out and buy it whenever you run out and it is unscented.

Cons:

It makes acne worse, there are 3 steps, you have to use the first step for 1-2 minutes, it makes skin oily, and it is expensive.

This product doesn't work and it is too expensive and you have to pay $40 every two months. It makes acne worse and it doesn't help at all. I hated this product. It is too much of a hassle to do all three steps twice a day. It also mad my face feel oily.

Pros:

i started to see results immediatley and it kept my face not COMPLETELY clear, but clear fo the most part.

Cons:

you start to break out if you go a day without using it, and to see results, you have to use the products together

I really like proactive. I've been using it for about 4 years and i use it twice a day. I have really oily skin, so i've recently started using the daily oil control and i can really tell a difference. My face still has a little oil but not near as much.

Pros:

worth a try! not expensive, strong enough

Cons:

Did not "see results in 3 days!"......just over two weeks, and I am starting to see progress.

I waited for the two week mark before posting a review, but I can say I am glad I kept with it and did not give up. It did make my skin worse before it made it better, and I ended up picking at one problem spot, so that may have delayed the results by a day or two... BUT, at 2 weeks and 1 day I can say I have NO NEW acne, and everything is becoming more smooth and less red.

Pros:

I love this stuff!!! I have tried over 15 face washes in only 2 years... Nothing worked for me... But This stuff started working for me the 1st day I used it!!! =]

Cons:

It doesn't really work for all the acne on my face... But the major ones, slowly go away...

I'm 14 years old... No one likes having a dryed up acne covered face... Which is why you should buy this... It's awesome! And it really does work!!! xD
August 3, 2008

Pros:

worked well at first

Cons:

stopped after a while, acne got worse

if you like a small pimple to go away in a matter of days, use this product. if you have your whole chin and forehead broken out in pimples like me, dont use it. it makes it better then you dont use it in two days, it get two times worse...

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
