Pros:

Makes skin really soft
reduced number of pimples
makes skin less oily

Cons:

At first stings a little bit.

So my skin started to get progressively worse and I started buying everything. First drugstore, but then I ordered expensive cleansing systems and either way, none of them worked well. I ordered a Murad kit and after a few days I had more and more pimples and dry patches all over my face. So one morning i was looking at this website trying to figure out what to do. I saw the baking soda and saw how people said it did wonders for their skin. I made a paste out of it, and used it as a scrub with my morning shower. At first it stung a tiny bit but nothing major at all. It has been 3 days, and I practically have one zit compared to the 10 previously. And that zit is almost gone. I use it at morning in my shower as a scrub, but at night I only use it as a spot treatment. And the results are so much better then I could have imagined. The best part is that my skin never gets oily like it used to during the day. Great product, i really recommend.

Pros:

Amazing! Shrinks Pimples right away. Saw a major difference in 4 days!
Cheap

Cons:

None!

Amazing. It dries out all pimples. I use it twice a day as a mask. If it works this well after 4 days can't wait to see what will happen in a month!

Pros:

-Great for oily skin and cystic acne
-Works fast
-Great exfoliate
-Cheap
-Leaves skin soft and smooth
-Lightens up dark marks
-Shrinks pores

Cons:

-Can make skin dry
-Burns a little bit
-Kinda messy

Ive been suffering with acne ever since I was 13, Im 18 now. Ive used everything including Pro-Activ (twice, broke me out more), Neutrogena Skin ID (stops working once you stop using it), Final Crush (broke me out more), and medication from the doctor (still broke out and made skin unbelievably dry). I even used home remedies like oatmeal, potatoes, and lemon juice (their good just takes alot longer to work). I have VERY oily sensitive skin and get cystic acne, mostly on my cheeks on jawline. Baking Soda is the ONLY thing that truly worked for me. I use it in the morning and at night after washing my face with Cetaphil, I mix it with water to make it into a paste and scrub my face gently for about 5 minutes then I wash it off. Afterwards my skin feels soft and smooth. It works really fast too, my bumps are gone in 1 to 2 days. Also it lightened up my dark marks from my previous acne. Note it can make your skin dry and burns a little bit while using it. Baking soda is amazing and a miracle. I definitely recommend giving baking soda a try if havnt yet and have tried everything else. Its awesome!

Great. <3
The only thing that bothers me is that sometimes it irritates my face, but I have to realize that I'm the one who's exfoliating too hard. But all in all, it actually helps me. I have literally about 20+ little tiny bumps all over my face and forehead. I use this about every night, and USUALLY I scrub very gently, and it does the job for me. It takes away those stupid, irritating little bumps.

Pros:

It's cheap and it works. What more do I have to say?

Cons:

None, though it can sting and irritate if you use it too much and more than once a day. I've warned you, so don't do it!

After I got this terrible stomach virus, my face broke out severely, especially on my forehead area. I had like 10 pimples on my head and 2 on each of my cheeks. It was so nasty! I was kind of annoyed because my sulfur mask wasn't working as it used to, and I had no money to buy acne products and cleansers and such. While looking for food in the kitchen, out of whim, I looked at my baking soda in the fridge and said: "Why not?" I'd tried it before, but it was too drying and harsh on my dry and sensitive skin. So to combat that, instead of adding water and making a mask, I added olive oil and turned it into a scrub! My word people, that did WONDERS! This is my regimen: Morning and night I wash my face with my Dove Beauty bar soap twice, then put the baking soda/olive oil mixture on may face and massage gently, exfoliating the dead skin cells. It's very moisturizing, which is good for for who has very dry skin. After I put the scrub I wash it off with lukewarm water and then with cold water to close my pores. Then I put on a LIGHT (water-based) moisturizer - I personally use Faerie Organic Dewy Glow Moisturizer, so I get the extra moisture, but not enough to break me out. (If you have oily skin, I'd suggest using a good toner and then add your favorite moisturizer after. Or you don't have to add moisturizer at all, since the olive oil will do it.) It's really helpful during this dry winter. Doing this has helped my face look brighter. And those pimples? After 3 nights of doing this they are either gone or so small, you can barely see them. I believe the the combination of the baking soda (which dried out the pimples) and the olive oil (which healed and brightened my skin) helped the most. Bottom line: HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! :)

Pros:

Clears face, fades scars, very cheap

Cons:

Mildly abrasive so might not be great for sensitive skin.

I started the Regimen a few years ago and it worked really well. I went from moderate to mild acne and was pretty happy about it. Several months ago I was looking for an effective way to fade my old acne discoloration scars (again). At the end of my rope, I tried a baking soda mask. The results were amazing! I could immediately see a difference in the evenness of my skin tone. A few days later I did another mask and other people noticed the difference as well. Here's the really good part. I got so excited by the results I started looking for other ways people use baking soda. Based on these reviews I was a little nervous to use it as a cleanser/exfoliant like Arm and Hammer's website says you can. My skin isn't very sensitive so I gave it a try. It cleared my acne completely!!!! I always still had about six fairly small pimples somewhere on my face and usually one full-out zit. They all cleared away completely as soon as I started using baking soda! For the mask: Every three days, I mix about two or three tablespoons of baking soda and just enough water to make a paste about the consistency of tooth paste. I carefully "plaster" it on my face, hold as still as I can (or it will start "snowing"), and rinse it off after about five minuets. Daily routine; morning and night: First I wash with baking soda. I wet my face, pour a little more than a quarter size baking soda in my palm, and add enough water to make a very very thin paste. I gently scrub my entire face with this solution, it's a little scratchy, which means its exfoliating but you also have to be careful not to be too rough. I then follow the Regimen using Cetaphil, a generic BP, and a SPF 15 oil-free moisturizer.

Pros:

Great mechanical and chemical exfoliator
cheap

Cons:

can be drying
alkaline-must balance skin ph with a vinegar solution after use to reestablish skin's acid mantle

Baking soda is the best exfoliator I have ever used. It is a very important part of keeping my pores clear. I also use my Pretika facial brush, my extractor tool to clear plugged pores, and homemade clay masks, but baking soda is an essential part of my skin care routine. I use it at least 4 times per week. Sometimes I'll use it straight. Sometimes I'll mix some in with my cleanser. BUT it is very alkaline and strips your skins natural acid mantle that protects your skin. So after I use it, I use my homemade vinegar toner that is 1/2 white vinegar and 1/2 water. It's just ironic that after spending thousands of dollars on commercial products that are loaded with parabens and other nasty chemicals--I've found success with cheap, natural, vinegar and baking sod

Pros:

smooth skin
less redness
fewer pimples and blackheads

Cons:

can be messy
can sting if applied to open wounds
you CAN scrub too hard!

I have mild/moderate adult acne, as well as other complexion issues. This winter my skin started getting rough and dry patches, as well as many more pimples than before (before it was mainly blackheads) and it was very red in places as well. I started off with chemicals like proactive, and it was painful and made it worse. I moved on to organic stuff. the redness was better, but my face was still flaky. I heard about baking soda, and since I thought it would at least be a cheaper way to exfoliate since my organic frilly flax seed exfoliator was $16. I massaged a paste of baking soda with my finger tips. Immediatly, my skin was very soft and smooth. after just a few days it was much clearer. It has been a week and I don't think my skin has looked this good since before I became pregnant! (when my adult acne started.) I have been following my scrub with baking soda with 99% pure organic Aloe vera. This also has healing properties, and it moisturizes. Maybe it is the combo as well, I am not sure. I started the aloe earlier, and it became better when I switched to baking soda in combo. I am so happy! I can go places (comfortably) without make up now! *just to note, other people said it can sting, it has stung when I have open areas. Also, be careful to scrub gently!!!

Pros:

Makes skin super soft and cystic acne disappear

Cons:

May sting a little at first

LOVE IT! It is my savior cleanser. I have struggled with acne since I was 16. I am now 30 and started using this product for over a week now due to having 2 huge cystic acne pimples rsing off my chin. I was so embarassed and needed them to fade quickly. I used it as an exfolient on my super oily face then washed with a all natural bar soap and I immediately seen a difference. It dried the cysts up fast. I use it as a face scrub morning and night, I also dabbed it on my pimples as a spot treatment and left it on over night. I actually felt the pimples cringing and dying as they withered away! his is my miricale fase wash.
