Pros:

Very cheap
Works quickly

Cons:

Can make skin dry

I started breaking out (blackheads, white heads and some cyst spots) all over my face this year due to stress and I've tried so many things to get rid of it but nothing really worked. I've been using this for just over a week and although at first it made some of my spots scab up, I kept using it and now my face is almost clear, I mix it with water in a bowl and use it as a scrub before I go to bed and then I use an ordinary aloe vera soap in the mornings. I've got no cyst spots, hardly any whiteheads and I've got fewer blackheads. It does dry out your skin, but then most acne face washes do, just moisturise more! I'm not sure if it's doing anything for my scars, but I've only been using it for a week, so maybe it'll make them fade gradually over time! Has worked great for me

Pros:

*makes skin smooth
*exfoliates

Cons:

*stings at open sores

I just tried it llike two seconds ago after reading some of these reviews and it felt pretty good. It exfoliated my skin and made it smooth. It did sting and its still stinging a little but its deffinately not bad if it works. Just add a little water to some baking soda and rub it in a circular motion on your face. And don't leave it on too long. Right after your done rubbing it all over just rinse it off and dry. And don't forget to moisturize :) Good luck! Hope it works for u!

Pros:

Smaller Pores, Less Oily Skin, Lighter Scars, Smaller/Disappearing Zits, Better Complexion

Cons:

Stings a Bit, Dries Out Skin Fast

I've been using the Baking Soda/Water face mask for a little over a week and my acne has cleared up almost completely! My scars are much lighter, and my large zits are much smaller, not as sore, and heal much faster! My face gets oily on my forehead and nose especially, and it clears it right up. The down side for me is that I have sensitive skin, so it stings a bit before I can rinse it off, but the results are worth it! I use this once a day before I put on another homemade face mask with oatmeal, lemon juice, orange juice, honey, and mashed banana that makes my face smoother and acts as a moisturizer after the baking soda mask. The lemon juice also takes up evening my skin tone where the baking soda leaves off. Together, my red, chronically blotchy areas are almost completely gone after just 1 week, my scars are much less noticeable, and my skin feels so much nicer.

Pros:

I love baking soda!!! I have no problems with it at all. It is inexpensive and works for me. I had the worst acne and was allergic to all products that fight acne. Now my skin is clear :)

Cons:

None.

I love baking soda. Their are so many different uses for it and now that I know it fights acne this just makes it better. I have clear skin. I really can't believe how well it worked. I felt I like I had tried everything with no real progress. But now my skin just keeps getting better. I even mix the soda into my shampoo and body washes. It is amazing. I bought a 13lb bag of the stuff at Costco...this is gonna last me forever and is supper cheap.

love love love
I'm 16 years old. Last year, I had completely clear and beautiful skin but like every teenager I started to develop pimples and acne about 9-10 months ago, which has really dimmed my self confidence and increased my anxiety. So like everyone else with an acne problem, I google home remedies ALL THE TIME. Every time I did I always came across the baking soda one but I was always afraid to use it because of its acidity. But when desperate times call for desperate measures, I gave it a try. That night, I made a baking soda and lemon juice/water paste, applied it to the affected areas, let it dry for about 20 minutes and rinsed it off. Obviously I didn't see results straight away but I could tell what it had done. So I slept on it, woke up, AND I WAS SO PLEASED WITH RESULTS. All my bumps and pimple were gone and redness had disappeared, and this was just my first time using it! I will post up my result in a week. Can't wait to use it again. I would definitely recommend it. Thanks, Someone with mild acne

Baking soda aka sodium bicarbonate, is alkali. I don't know what you have been using on your face, but please do some research and don't spout nonsense on a website that can drastically affect someone's face.

How is your face doing today ? Are you still using the same baking soda, lemon and water ? I am in the same boat as you and I want to look great without all the makeup on for my 17th birthday.

Pros:

Makes skin soft and smooth
Clears acne almost instantly
Inexpensive

Cons:

Stings a little at first.

The bottom line is that this is the best thing I have ever used on my skin. Personally, I don't have the money to be running around spending it on proactive, and skin ID. This method is so inexpensive, and for once, it actually works! After the first day of using it I could feel and see the difference! My breakouts went down significantly! I used the baking soda as a paste (mixed with water) and rubed it onto my face in the shower (after rinsing it with warm water) then rinsed it off with cold water. Everyone has noticed the difference! Sure, my face isn't completly clear, but its getting much better, everybody has noticed the difference! If your looking for an easy cheap way to clear up your acne, this is the product for you! Hope it helps for you too!

Coconut Oil and Baking Soda!
I use coconut oil for a lot of things, it's great for your skin and hair. I put it on my eyelashes to get them long and silky. I started breaking out hella from hormones, my skin is super oily and gross, and I just cant make the pimples stop. I mixed coconut oil and baking soda together and used it as a scrub. Amazing! The baking soda really seems to pull the crap out, afterwards, it was virtually falling out of my pores. Super clean feeling, and a huge improvement in the number and darkness of blackheads. the coconut oil kind of lubricates and makes it easy to spread around so you're not pulling on your skin, and moisturizes at the same time. I followed with witch hazel after rinsing, and then applied my favorite night cream. Burt's bee's with royal jelly. I also used the mixture on my chest and shoulders/back. The nasty oiy mess it wasl hasn't built up yet a whole day later.

Pros:

Cheap
Great exfoliator
Cleared up my acne
Improved skin texture
Helped smooth my scars

Cons:

None!

I have had moderate acne since I was 10 years old and I have tried everything. I went and got acne extractions and chemical peels for years and paid a lot of money for expensive products. 6 months after I got married I ran out of my expensive products and was tired of paying so much for things that didn't work. I read about baking soda and I gave it a try. It changed my skin in a matter of weeks but I decided to keep using it for 6 months before I gave it a review on here. I absolutely love it and my skin has never looked so good. What I do: Every other night I get my face wet, pour about a tablespoon into my palm and then add a few drops of water to make a paste. I rub it around on my skin not to vigorously but enough to exfoliate. I rinse it off and then I wash my face with a gentle green tea cleanser. I will sometimes apply diluted apple cider vinegar after I dry my skin because I read that baking soda can throw of your skin's pH balance. I love how smooth it makes my skin feel and that it has done wonders for my acne.

Pros:

CHEAP, easy to use, BEST product I've used ever!

Cons:

nothing too bad to cause me to not use it. seriously. baking soda is AMAZING.

TRY it. I've been suffering from HORRIBLE acne since I was about 12. I'm 22 now and have never found anything so effective as this. I was extremely skeptical because well, it's too simple! But I'm so glad I gave it a chance. Baking soda is my new best friend! I started adding baking soda to my skin care routine and have seen immediate results. Give these tricks a shot : Add baking soda to your face wash Use baking soda+ a little water and use it as a face mask & also, boil a few tablespoons of thyme. when the water is hot, pour into a bowl, put your face over the bowl& a towel over your head. Steam for 5-10 minutes. Thyme helps with extremely oily skin and steam causes your pores to open up& allow all the dirt to drip out in the sweat. Please, try any or all of these..I promise you won't be disappointed.
