Pros:

Makes red marks a litte lighter but no sudden change (at least not for me)

Cons:

- Stings like crazy, especially if you apply it on open acne wounds.
- It can burn your face if you have sensitive skin

For me it helped in the beginning but I made the mistake of combining the baking soda with a cream my dermatologist had prescribed for me. Basically the cream thinned out my skin and made it more sensitive to acidic chemicals. I didn't know this until I put the baking soda on my face and it burned like crazy. After I washed it off, it had burned off a large portion of my skin on my cheek and it was not pretty. I was walking around for a week with an ugly scab until it healed. Needless to say, I will not be using baking soda anymore. At least not at the same time as I'm applying other creams.

Pros:

My skin was noticably softer
It paled the acne
It cleaned out my pores
Most of the blackheads on my nose-they seem more brown than black- are gone
You only have to mix water and baking soda from your fridge

Cons:

It burned like h*** for a few minutes if you got it in any cuts or open scratchs or any openings in the skin
It flakes off after a few minute just by the turn of the head or ANY movement of the head
Doesn't have immediate results like promised

I would probably only recomend this to poeple with very light or light Acne or poeple with blackheads

Very average
Works for a day in drying out pimples but they come back and the stuff is (eventually) very irritating to the skin. Not a long term solution.

Pros:

It made my skin smooth, and got rid of breakouts the first week I used it

Cons:

Stings, redness, dryness, caused me to really breakout

When I first started using it it seemed like I finally found the solution to my acne problems. My skin was the smoothest it had ever been and the pimples I started faded really fast. I felt like a million bucks. I used it every night. I would make a paste with it and rub on my face for about a minute and rinse it off. I was a little careless with it though. I found I had not completely rinsed it off some mornings. Also, at this time I began taking vitamin D, (2000 iu). Then the second week rolled around. I noticed my skin was starting to get bumpy around my temples and on my forehead. Initially I did not think much of, but then It started to really breakout. It has been the worse breakout I have had in a long. Usually, I breakout with one our two pimples in areas, but now I breakout in clusters of small pimples that. These areas have become very rough and blotchy. I have stopped using the baking but not the vitamin D. It seems like it is getting a little better.

Pros:

Makes skin feel nice and smooth, cheap, easy.

Cons:

Did not help with breakouts

I used this product for a few weeks. I made a paste out of baking soda and water and applied it to my skin and left it on for about 10-15 minutes, then very gently rinsed it off. It did leave my skin feeling nice afterwords, very soft and smooth. But this did not seem to help my acne at all.

Pros:

ok exfoliator

Cons:

stinging, burning, itching, and my acne got worse: I believe this is too harsh with active acne/sensitive skin. It may be great for very mild acne/oily skin. My skin is too dry already but still has moderate acne.

I won't use it again.

Wouldn't recommend
It can seriously damage your skin - try and avoid this method ( based on personal experience )

Could have just been your skin type reacting to this method. May not have the same effect as it does on your skin on others.

Nah.
Have tried this a few times over the years. It's cheap so maybe it's worth trying for you but my skin didn't respond to it at all, by any method of application, except just getting a little pink. If my skin is itchy for some reason I'll soak in a tub with some baking soda and epsom salts but it never helped my acne. The only reason I'd recommend it is because it does help with my itchy legs when I throw some in a bath, so I'm sure there are possibly benefits with other skin issues, and it's probably in your kitchen somewhere already and you don't have anything to lose.

Pros:

Cheap, easy to use.

Cons:

Immediately regretted using it.

It might work for some people, but it was a bad experience for me. I tried it on a small area and it is still burning long after I washed it off. No thank you!

Pros:

None

Cons:

My face turned beet red

I'm stuck in my room right now cause I don't want anyone to see my face. I am trying to make the redness go away by putting a cold washcloth on my face. Beware to those with sensitive skin. :(
