Mix with cucumber!
I tried a baking soda mask (just baking soda with water) first, and only kept it on for a minute or so. Still, it seemed to be drawing out stuff from my skin. So, I decided to try it again. I have sensitive skin, so I mixed about an eighth of a large cucumber, skinned it, mashed it into a paste, then mixed it with the baking soda mask. It neutralizes the sting, and cucumber also has soothing properties. This let me keep the mask on longer because it stung less. It seems to work really well!

Great Exfolient, reduces redness and removes built-up dirt + bacteria! Will use again!
So, I tried Baking Soda Mask for the first time today after reading some great reviews. I was impressed, but not overly impressed like most of the reviews state. While it did help to relieve my redness and irritation, it did not reduce the size of any of my whiteheads. However my skin is extremely soft afterwards. I also did not notice any burning sensation and I mixed mine with Lemon - I might just have tough skin - I do put it through a lot. Anyways, this is a great natural exfolient and I will be using it 1-2x/week because it removes a love of dead skin and reduces redness and inflammation, so it's great for that! It's definitely not a quick fix, but with other treatments, I bet it will help enhance the results.

Lemon juice is an acid and baking soda is a base so when you combine the two you actually neutralize them. You might as well put plain water on your face because all that you will get from mixing an acid and a base of similar but opposite strengths is create a salt and water. No point.

that clean feeling
After having your usual acne for around 3 years i started to wonder if putting chemicals on my face was such a good idea! I knew about the baking soda method a long time ago just never tried it. What a mistake that was!!! After your first mask which i left on for approx. 5 mins, my face felt SOOO CLEAN! And a bit red if im honest but that soon faded! This clean feeling would last for ages after the mask too! Ive recently broke out with blackheads around the bridge of my nose which is unusual for me but baking soda has helped drasticly! PLEASE TRY THIS!!!

Totally Worth the Sting!

Pros:

Cheap
Really Works
Reduced swelling and cleared up face visably

Cons:

Stung really bad! (But worth It)

This product was Amazing! I didn't think much of it when I first came across it but thought that I would give it a go and it was awesome. I used 2tbsp of baking soda and mixed it with 2 tsps of water and made a paste and applied it in circular motions. Left it on for about 10 mins and rinsed with warm water. My face looks great! Reduced swelling, and cleared out pores.

Works well

Pros:

Makes your skin feel clean
Gets rid of acne scars
Get rid of whiteheads

Cons:

Drying

I used lemon and baking soda since I have a mix of everything and scars, for the first 5 min I had it on it was fine then it started to feel like cement was on my face so I washed it off and put olive oil on it, I kept doing this 2 times a week and in three weeks all the scars and whiteheads are gone.

Wonderful exfoliating product, but be VERY gentle!

Pros:

Great exfoliating product
Cheap

Cons:

Can be VERY irritating if you don't use it gently enough

Good product, clears flakes and dry skin. Just mix with your gentle cleanser and apply VERY gently to your face. Use feather like pressure, and use circle motions for about 30 seconds.

Pros:

smoother clearer skin
blackheads reduced , pores shrunk
reduces and helps clear pimples

Cons:

can be to harsh for sensitive skin

I have now stopped buying exfoliators after discovering baking soda. once to twice a week depending on how bad my skin is i mix it with a mild cleanser ( like cetaphil ) to exfoliate with. After using this I find my skin softer, smoother, blackheads mildly reduced, pores shrunken. It does leave your skin a bit red after. I overal think that this does clear up my skin. I havnt used it yet as a mask only exfoliator/cleanser. I also use baking soda as toothpaste . Some people probably wouldnt like the taste but I dont mind . I think that baking soda cleans my teeth better than regular toothpaste and also leave my breath fresher and teeth whiter.

Pros:

Clears breakouts
Chemical free
Soothing

Cons:

Not a long term solution

I figured I had nothing to lose, so I would wash my face with baking soda at night before bed. It greatly improved my skin, however after a few weeks, it stopped having results. I still recommend it however, because it is cheap and gets results.

Pros:

- reduced my pimples/blackheads/whiteheads
- started using it about 2 years ago and still use it
- really realy cheap and easy
- wiped imperfections and evenly toned my skin.

Cons:

- DO NOT USE THIS EVERYDAY. I was using it as my only skincare product, with a bit of moisturizer after, morning and night. It DRYS your skin completely. Only use as an exfoliate maybe once or twice a week
- In my long term use, my skin became noticibely lighter than my neck and chest. I received numerous comments about this, but only from people I spent like every day with (family and close friends).
- DO NOT USE EVERYDAY otherwise this may happen to you. Once of twice a week as an exfoliatio

Good for 1-2 times a week use

Pros:

baby soft skin
gets rid of dead skin
less breakouts
cheap

Cons:

tingles a little bit
dries skin

I use it to exfoliate my skin when i feel like i need it. I try to use it once every week but sometimes i forget so usually i use it twice a month. if you rub the baking soda to hard on your skin, it will hurt but if you lightly massage it in your skin, after you rinse it, your skin is like baby soft but if you don't apply a moisturizer, your skin will be so dry. after using it, my skin doesn't break out as often and it's cheap
