A breakout at around one month is very normal. Give it another month of two. You'll be glad you stuck it out. The initial breakout with Accutane can linger.

You won't see results for a little while longer, even on a high dose. I don't think your dose is ridiculously high. He's being aggressive and with Accutane, it's really 'go big or go home'.

Have you tried putting aquaphor up there? It helped me immensely. I should mention though, it does create a smell after its been in there for a few hours. Clean it out with a kleenex and reapply.
