Vitamin A Toxicity, my story....

I sincerely doubt just 8000 IU of retinol will cause hair loss. The extra zinc should provide protection against vitamin a toxicity, if you actually have it. Retinol is mostly toxic when it's unbounde...

Fermented Cod Liver Oil...really any better?

As far as I know, there is no known benefit. At $40 for an 8oz bottle? That is absurd. It's funny how they list it as "237 servings" as opposed to an 8oz bottle (if consumers knew they were getting an...

increasing glutathione?

You can increase glutathione levels by eating more methionine, selenium and like you mentioned lipoic acid.   You're right about supplementing with glutathione though, it's very poorly absorbed.....

Acne Free Diet...No gimmick, no profit seeked, just clearer skin!

4. Salt: I stopped eating any product that listed salt as a main ingrediant. Why? Because most companies use Iodized salt in their products. Iodized salt causes acne and if you take it out of your die...

how often can we indulge?

Like someone said, indulgence twice a week is fine. It's usually best to involve those indulgence meals with your healthy meals.

Are eggs bad for acne?

Egg whites actually have the capability to hinder the absorption of some vitamins. Egg yolk is very very good for you. If you buy free range eggs you can eat the yolk raw to maximize the nutritional b...

Are eggs bad for acne?

Or you can just eat the eggwhites.... The eggwhites themselves have no nutritional value, compared to egg beaters which are fortified.

Are eggs bad for acne?

I don't think eggs are a problem for acne sufferers. Although 1 egg provides 40% of daily iodine (a known acne aggravtator) and 70% of the daily value of cholesterol, I think it should be eaten only i...

Vitamin B5 Information

Your body will take what it needs and discard what it does not. You will notice your urine color to be a flourescent yellow after taking B5. Not quite. The neon yellow urine is the result of B2....

I am going out on a limb and I'm going to say 5 grams has actually proven to be more effective than the 10 grams. I'm glad to hear it. People often say you have to take 10g/day to see the differen...

Suffering From Acne & Eczema At The Same Time

I've experienced this (still). I had weeping eczema (the one they call "wet" eczema) when I was younger and let me tell you, acne is nothing compared to wet eczema. There is a cream, ZincKit, that ...

Topical Zinc...

I use zinc oxide from my sunscnreen...that's as far as topical zinc goes. It does a decent job at least inhibiting pimples...but to go farther than that, I never (thankfully) needed to.

Can Salicylic Acid Cause Pimples?

I think it's more of an allergic reaction instead. I know peanuts gives me bumps on my face that are not necessarily pimples, but more like a mild form of hives. So you could be allergic to it.

Toner or no toner?

I don't use toners much myself. They simply don't do much for the skin IMO. They almost always irritate. I would ditch toners completely, but everyone's skin is different.
