Pros:

Fantastic moisturizer, leaves my skin feeling soft. Normally when i apply foundation i get a slight dry look on my cheeks but when i applied my foundation after using this product, i didn't get that my skin looker really healthy and had a nice glow.

Cons:

I love to use it in my bath, so i wish the bottle was bigger for the price.

I love it. It is my must have product. Early last year i had a spot break out because i wasn't taking care of my skin. After a ritual of cleansing, toning and bio oil twice a day, the condition of my skin is so much better. Bio oil as pretty much cleared up the scars now. Though I do still get the occasional spots, but bio oil makes my skin look really healthy that they don't bother me to much anymore.

Product used: Emu Oil

Pros:

Clears blemishes, softens wrinkles. Great for dry skin areas. I love to use it at night before I go to bed. My skin looks plump and dew kissed when I awaken in the morning. I recommend using a small bit around the eyes. A little goes a long way.

Cons:

Using too much will make you look greasy. It feels very light, so one may not realize that they are using too much.

I don't have acne, but it works well to maintain aging skin. I mix in some green tea to thin it out and cucmber extract to tighten pores. People often ask me my skin care secrets. When I tell them that I use Emu oil they seem shocked and don't believe me. But it is true. I have two grandchildren that people think are my kids. When they see me out with my 24 year old, they think I'm the older sister! I can't speak for anyone else, but I love it. Start using it in your mid twenties and your skin will stay youthful for many, many years to come!

Pros:

Works incredible, used for about 4 days now and im already seeing good results. ive had red marks from years ago and theyre already starting to fade, and some of the newer ones are actually almost gone!

Cons:

leaves bad burn marks when mixed with benzoil peroxide
drys quick, you need to rub it in very fast
VERY expensive! almost 30 bucks for a small bottle. WELL worth it though

TRY THIS! Ive tried everything for red marks, everything believe me. this has shown the most results from anything ive ever used. its expensive but just buy it and you'll be happy, and dont mix it with any kind of spot treatment, and rub it in fast once you put it on. you'll see results in about 3 days if you put it on as directed. TRY IT!!!!!

Product used: MaMa (Lotion)

Pros:

After 40 years of spending thousands of dollars on a quest for perfect skin. This product is the thing I have EVER used!! Barnone!! I will recommend MaMa Lotion to anyone out there, I challenge you to use this and see the difference! IT WORKS!!!!!!!!

Cons:

I recommend that you use this every day for the first 2 weeks. Then every other day there after alternating with Retin-A. Also follow up with Lac-Hydrin Lotion...It helps with the dryness of the skin. You MUST moisturize always!

I recommend this product highly to everyone. I have never endorsed any products before, but I am moved to tears when I see my skin, after all these years, I can finally go out side without a ton of makeup!!!!

Product used: Emu Oil

Pros:

Reduces blemishes and redness

Cons:

Made my face dry for a few days, but it went away.

I wasn't sure if it would work. I have a lot of scarring from previous acne and I've pretty much tried everything! But I bought it anyway and I really like it. The redness in my face is going away and what acne I had when I first started using it is barely there. I have only had this product for a week but it seems to be doing the job. I will continue to use it and hopefully it keeps getting better and better. I bought the emu oil as well as the soap and moisturizing cream, that's why the price is a little higher.

Pros:

Cheap, had some minimal results in the first two weeks

Cons:

Doesn't work any more after a few weeks

Buy it once and use it up but that's it. You won't see any better results. The results are subtle, but as desperate as I am I was happy there was ANY result.

Pros:

Faded and greatly improved a discolored and not completely level acne scar from 1979-1980. I was self conscious of the scar and attempted to conceal with makeup and concealer.

Cons:

Did not raise a small pitted scar next to it

This product did fade and lessen an old acne scar from 25 years ago, which is remarkable. I used Elicina at night (and not every night) over a period of months. Did not notice any peeling, scaling, burning, etc., like others mentioned. Maybe they were using acne products in conjunction with Elicina. I also use Elizabeth Arden Skin Illuminating Complex (with BHA and Retinyl) and a similar product by Neutrogena at night.

Product used: MaMa (Lotion)

Pros:

IT WORKS

Cons:

PRICE

I have had strong acne from anxiety and depression for about 8 years now, and this lotion tamed it spectacularly. It also reduced my rolling scars and now after 6 months, my skin is almost back to new. Follow directions carefully. You can buy samples in eBay if you want to try it out. Bottle lasted me 4 months. By the way, if you decide to give it a chance, don't use any other type of medication or put any other medicated ointments on your face. I use Neutrogena Oil-Free Moisturizer and Extra Gentle Cleanser, or any soap-free cleanser.

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
